The UFC's level of hypocrisy when it comes to fighter conduct is reaching a point that's making me hate their business. We don't give contracts to fighters who make racist jokes on the internet, but our champion that has multiple DWIs, a hit and run, a failed drug test for cocaine, and a brawl at a staredown? No big deal. We applaud his efforts to get his life back on track. Jon Jones' next fight should be at WSOF or Bellator after he does a year or more in prison. If justice were fair.

Jones is worth Hundreds of millions of dollars to the UFC so he is worth the bad PR. Whatever potential Tyler Manawaroa had it isn't worth the bad PR. If Tyler ever amounted to anything they could sign him after it all blew over years down the line. Floyd is a convicted woman beater yet nobody distances themselves from him. UFC stood by Rampage in the same situation. Gustafsson has a criminal past. Anthony Johnson was accused of beating his significant other. There is a massive list of fighters with legal troubles and how much the UFC stands by them is directly related to their value to the company and their value to a competitor. Because if UFC didn't stand by Jones, Bellator would quickly offer their support.

@legacy He may be worth that much, but how big of a black eye is he also worth at this point? I've only ordered 2 UFC PPVs ever, but I guarantee you that in the future if I ever happen to order another Jon Jones won't be anywhere near it.

Okay so reading the report document, it doesn't sound like Jones first ran away from the scene entirely and then came back a while later, and then ran away again. Initial reports sounded like that.
It sounds instead like he got out of the car, started to bolt, then realized he needed to get some things from the car first, and then he bolted.
The question of course is why would he have run away like that. Most likely and obvious answer is he had contraband on him that he felt he needed to hide. And it was probably something illegal or damning enough that caused him to flee and make sure nobody could ever pin it on him. A bunch of coke? A gun? Or a sobriety test? I have to think it's something like this. I can't come up with another plausible reason he would react like that. People run because they're scared and have something to hide, not because it's just a random, bad decision.

Could be running from the breathalyzer.
Memory fuzzy, but was/is he still on probation from the DUI a couple years ago? If so, that would actually be a huge reason to run.

^ I don't understand how he's so stupid he goes back to get cash from his glovebox and still leaves that **** behind. Common sense is lacking in this one.

maybe he was feeling invincible because of all the coke he did
on other news... he has been
released and he is able to travel to NV and fight ....legaly, of course the UFC will abide, but they 100% do it just for the fans.
I´m, bored at work and this is the best I got, this is the most entertained I´ve been by Jon Jones

@CJ / legacy my guess is either:
- He didn't have enough time and he panicked, so he missed a couple things like the pipe.
- He deemed the pipe a low priority in comparison to the other things he needed to grab.

Why not just grab it and chuck it at least? Mind blowing to me that something illegal and damning was that low on the totem pole of priorities unless he had little chunks of dead child carcass in the backseat or something.
http://mmajunkie.com/2015/04/a-brief-timeline-of-ufc-champ-jon-jones-run-ins-with-authoritiesLolol, reading this article and realizing just how terrible of a human/driver Jon Jones is. He shouldn't be allowed to operate a lawn mower.

Dana just announced Jones was stripped of the title. Suspended indefinitely. Fight is off. Cormier vs Johnson at UFC 187 for the title.
