i think Gustafson is a good idea.  This whole division is now open for a few guys to win the title.  too bad Phil Davis is no longer there as he would have a shot then.

Bellator?  In what scenario do you think Jones ends up with Bellator?  UFC isn't letting him go anywhere.

@Gregory I expect that, with all these problems that Jones has been facing and the fact that he has been suspended indefinitely with the UFC, I doubt they would want the backlash of him coming back from jail and then coming back to the biggest MMA promotion.

Honestly, after a DUI, a Cocaine conviction, troubles with the commission regarding the brawl, derogatory posts on twitter and in public, and now a hit and run where a Pregnant women got injured, where drugs were found on the scene. The general public would be more outrage if they let him back in the UFC, compared to the fans who still stand behind him on this. People might see this as "Oh the UFC is willing to let Jones back in after this debacle, but they won't let people like Paul Daley back in, or X, or Y." That itself will have big retaliation.

So I say Bellator because we kinda expect this stuff from this promotion already with bring back Kimbo, Daley, and Shamrock. Sure they don't have as much problems as Jones by know, but this might be the only chance for Jones to get back for "work."

So that is why I say Bellator.

The UFC will want jones back as he could be a good heel.  Many people watched his fights in hopes that he would lose.  After this it would be even more.

There is no way the UFC is going to let Jones go to Bellator. From business stand point that is just stupid. You pretty much validating Ballator entire light heavy weight division if they allow that to happen, which they won't

Jones wont set a foot inside a Bellator cage because the UFC  wont let him go, yes they suspended him  indefinetly, but indefinetly is a VERY flexible word, it may sound harsh because it could be two years or forever, but it could also mean 2 weeks. I don´t think Jones will be out for more than a year, unless he ends up in jail longer than that, which is very doubtful.

The UFC took the smart deicision and suspended Jones and strtip him from his belt, but it desn´t mean much either, hell they probably took the decision with Jones: look man you take care of this ****, we´re gonna strip you from the title and suspend ypou indefinetly in a few months when the air clears you´ll be back with a title shot and get things straighten out.

only time will tell if the UFC is serious about this punishment or if it was just a smoke courtain, I´ll go with the courtain, but I´m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.

edit: I just saw Reebok terminated their sponsorship...... THAT must really hurt, specially with hospital bills, fines, legal fees and  all that ****.... it turned out to be a very expensive joint

Damn, Jones lost his Reebok deal?  I would have thought his deal with Everlast, Beats, Draft Kings, MuscleTech, and/or EA Sports would have been the first to go.

Wow.  According to Bloody Elbow, Jones got pulled from the P4P rankings.  Now Jose Aldo is the #1 P4P fighter in the world.

@hdmexiqtioner - The general public doesn't know what Bellator is. They don't really know what MMA is, they thinks Jones fights UFC. In no other sport does an athlete come back from a suspension and is immediately relegated to a lower league. The general public understands contracts. When Alex Rodriguez returned the general public didn't expect him to have play for the Long Island Ducks. When Ray Rice returns the general public won't demand he plays in Canada first, if he can catch on with a NFL team.

Also, Jones is not going to jail or prison. This will easily be negotiated to a misdemeanor. Unless he's unable to pay his fine, he'll walk with probation and a suspended license. I know this will be a high profile case and they'll be a lot of posturing by the DA and judge to throw the book at Jones. However states are looking for ways to alleviate their prison populations to cut costs not add to them by imprisoning nonviolent offenders who are not on probation or have a criminal past.

Moreover, there have been multiple studies done in this country that have shown that there is a definite correlation with how much money you have and how much prison time you receive for violent and nonviolent crimes.

Jon will be back in the UFC by either the NYC show in December, 2015 or UFC 200 in May, 2016.

How long everyone think he will lose his licenses for? If this was Mass he likely not get his licences back for at least 2 years based on his awful track record. In fact if they could prove he was under the influence I think in Mass he lose it for 5 years based on the fact this be his third offence.

@StayReady

What the ****?!?!  This card is falling apart and fast.  Dana needs to have a suitable replacement for Khabib that can keep this fight a #1 contender fight; because, in my opinion, Cerrone deserves to have one more shot to try and get a fight for the belt.
