Yeah, the last time I saw Green, I realized he needed to be ranked on my listing.  I am just not as fast as I should be in keeping this updated.  But Myles Jury and Bobby Green have a date with my Rankings.  I haven't gotten far enough to know where, but I'll figure it out.

Where do you suggest Jury and Green go?

@bill Bobby Green just beat Pat Healy, pretty decisively at that. And he's ninth on yours. I think he's somewhere between 11-15 for me, i'm not sure though.

I think he's right around the top 20, probably not quite in there yet. Like 21-25.

Presently, the following are not matched up in fights yet: Takanori Gomi,

Some of the above fighters are just after having fought recently.

Injured: TJ Grant, Anthony Pettis, Ross Pearson, Gleison Tibau,

Since my last report, Rustam Khabilov beat Jorge Masvidal in convincing fashion.

Many promising coming fights include: Michael Johnson vs. Melvin Guillard, Donald Cerrone vs. Edson Barboza, Pat Healy vs. Jorge Masvidal, Khabib Nurmagovedov vs. Rafael dos Anjos, Diego Sanchez vs. Myles Jury, Jim Miller vs. Bobby Green.

Two fights I wouldn't mind watching would be: TJ Grant vs. Pat Healy and Jorge Masvidal vs. Rafael dos Anjos.

With respect to my Rankings, even though Bobby Green beat Pat Healy in convincing fashion, it is by far the biggest win of his career, and everyone ranked above him have better career records.  But I have my eye on Green and am prepared to fast-track him up on greased skids if he keeps it up.

The big news in the LW division is that Gilbert Melendez refused to sign the contract the UFC offered him.  He went to Bellator, agreed to terms with them, and then the UFC exercised their matching rights option.  So, Melendez is staying in the UFC.  One of the items in the contract was a title fight with Anthony Pettis.  So, that preempts all the other LW challengers: Aldo, Henderson, Thomson, Grant, etc.

And the other big news is that Nate Diaz has supposedly asked for out of his contract.  What happens with Nate remains to be seen.

After the Bellator mess of a PPV last night, I thought this was a good time to rethink the LW rankings. Alvarez has 3 career losses, 1 to WW Nick Thompson and 2 subs to Aoki and Chandler. Even though Aoki was generally considered top 10 in his day and is still active, the lack of crossover fights and the dominance of the UFC have left him forgotten and now the only wins over ranked fighters that either Eddie or Chandler have are each other so I've dropped both out of the top 10. I've got Eddie and Chandler at 12 & 13 between Cowboy and Bobby Green. Not ready to drop them that far just yet but you can't keep someone in their spot just because they were there. Put Brooks in at #40 cuz it was split win and he was KOed by Saad Awad but that's his only career loss.

Thoughts?

This is the best way I can think of to organize the 155 rankings after tonight.

1. Pettis is champ, so unless you drop him for inactivity, he's your #1.
2. Khabib beat RDA (and like 40 other people), so he's #2.
3. RDA beat Bendo, who was previously #2.
4. I won't drop Bendo any lower than I have to, he still beats most of the division.
5. Melendez is used to being ranked higher, but like it or not, he lost to Bendon.
6. Bobby Green got here by beating...
7. Josh Thomson, who got here by beating...
8. Nate Diaz, who is out indefinitely.
9. Myles Jury might deserve to be here anyway, but he got bumped up because...
10. Diego Sanchez has that win (on paper at least) over Ross Pearson, who had to move up after knocking out Maynard. So Maynard dropped below Pearson (#12 I think).

Along with Maynard, I dropped T.J. Grant out of the top 10 for inactivity.

Not bad but you don't have to give a fighter credit for a disputable decision win. I flip-flop on whether to rank Melendez ahead of Henderson all the time because I think he should've won. I look at fights like that as draws and wish there were more of them to reflect reality but you especially don't have to rank Diego ahead of Ross.

I'll have to think about how I'll change mine. Bottom line is last night makes EVERY position debatable, even #1.

Is it because Henderson just fought at WW that we can't add him to the LW rankings?

Its not always consistent where tapology will let you rank fighters. Dan Henderson's last fight was at 185 but I can't add him to my MW rankings.
