I don't see Maia having problems getting Kos down, he's a giant welterweight and Kos has been looking quite unmotivated of late (he was looking weird in the Lawler fight even before he got caught).
I'll be surprised if this goes past the 2nd round.

But if Kos drops this fight to Maia, and he probably will, it will be 3 losses in a row. Just who did Kos piss off to get this fight? While it is good to fight a highly-ranked name, this is one that might pull the lever and drop the invisible trap door under Kos' feet.
But I doubt the UFC will release him. He's still entertaining, still has a name, and has a good trash-talk game.
But his $78,000 salary will be a big burden for him to carry forward. That might be the most relevant factor in whether or not he gets cut.
While I might not like Kos too much because of his big mouth, I always like to watch him fight.

I don´t think they see it that way being that they didn´t like Fitch much they probably think Koscheck is a better match, ****tards so many options for Maia and they pick this

He usually goes for throws or sweeps and not slams.
He's a judo black belt and has done some crazy throws in the past on bigger guys. Remember he rag dolled Chael into a round 1 triangle choke a couple of years ago and Chael's a much bigger fighter than most of the guys he's going to be fighting at welterweight.
This fight doesn't make sense ranking wise, but it makes sense as Kos is relatively big UFC name and is pretty well known so a win for Maia over Kos would be a relatively big win for him.
Maia has the grappling skills, power and strength to take Kos down and he has the BJJ submission skills to either submit him, come close to submitting him or controlling him on the ground to a decision win like he did against Fitch.
Really there's not many guys at welterweight who can beat Maia.
