Correcting you: Smolka is a very skilled fighter, with bad striking and no distance management, but with some of the best scrambles in the whole sport, his grappling is legit. The worst male fighter on the ufc roster, is a guy named Guido Cannetti. You can argue all you want with that other guy and try to be condescending towards him or his statements, but you're just reaching by saying Louis Smolka when he's a legit fighter and very dangerous in the ufc (even if he's inconsistent)

+, Vince Morales is in a great time of his career and his skillset is certainly underrated. He lost to his worst matchup ever against a bigger guy in Chris Gutierrez at 145, and he lost to a monster like Song Yadong in China in a fight he took on short notice

Your prediction was great, but the whole reasoning behind it is plain wrong and made you come off ignorant. Hope you don't take it personal, bro :)

@LA, you know what denial is? I called it, provided solid logic throughout and was right. And Smolka pickers were wrong. The only impressive thing about Smolka is the people who have beat him. You can ignore my analysis, but fighting isn’t about records it’s about skills. The “styles make fights” trope is more beaten into the ground than a carney’s tent pole but it’s true. Most fans don’t have the eye to recognize what goes into fights, hence why Dom Cruz, Hardy, and Luke have so few subs and tailers. Trust me, there’s a world to fighting that you don’t know about and I knew without a doubt that Morales was favored to win that fight 85% of the time.

I don’t know, reading that it makes me sound like I think I’m a great picker. I’m not trying to say I’m awesome at picking fights, I’m trying to say that sometimes there are things that are obvious in the extrinsic data that people with sufficient first-hand experience can see. I’m ass at stats, and metrics, and don’t do a lot of tape study most of the time. I wouldn’t recommend tailing me.

But calling the fat L Smolka was going to take had nothing to do with luck.

Honestly no one good at picking fight, it’s pretty much a coin flip, when the best people picking fights at a 60% clip, I think that why reasoning is what important, MMA anything can happen and it’s random, half the time you have the right pick and is wrong anyway

I’ll be honest the Curtis and Hill call was a lot more impressive because I considered those close fights.

I mean, not really. If you pick the favourite every card you average out to about 68% in MMA. I'm  pretty sure the reason oddsbot is past 70% is because it picks Boxing which is mostly just gimme picks.

In the UFC it’s at 68%? That’s pretty impressive. But still if you normalize that to bedding odds I bet Oddsbot would be negative if they bet 1 dollar on each fight.

Yeah. I remember before Boxing was added to the site it hovered around from between 67. something percent to 69%. Don't remember it cracking 70%. That was across all MMA for which it could scour lines, not just UFC.

It shouldn't be surprising really. It picks the odds on favourites 100% of the time. The Bookies know what they're doing. If they didn't, there wouldn't be Bookies. As I've said before, if it was easy to beat the market there would be no market.

There's definitely weirdos downvoting comments like "Excited for the fight!" because they're mad they got into an argument or something. But it's also a built-in agree/disagree metric. If you post a dog**** prediction breakdown, I'm not mad if I vote it down. It's just bad and you need to know it so you can appropriately feel bad.

I'm surprised so many are picking Chucky Olives to sub Dustin tonight. I see this fight being primarily a stand up affair with Dustin sealing the deal by rd 3 and winning the undisputed belt by TKO. Really looking forward to this card tonight ..... enjoy the fights all.
