There's a lot of sorting out that needs to go down in the featherweight division. The UFC should throw all their money at Edgar to drop down in weight to fight Dillashaw considering both Cruz and Assuncao are out right now. And depending on how their timetable looks, they can fight eachother when they return.

I think TJ dominance is going to force Barao to change weight classes.

Well, I was wrong as **** about Barao and Dillashaw. Duane Ludwig just somehow turned TJ Dillashaw into one of the best fighters on the planet. Nevvvvvvvvver would have predicted this level of success for him when he was on TUF. Barao needs to think about maybe fighting at 145. I know there's the issue of Aldo being the champ and them being training partners and bffs, etc., etc., but I think Barao is cutting too much weight and it shows when he fights guys like TJ Dillashaw whose bodies are more naturally built for 135. Anyway, I have a **** ton of crow I have to eat, so I'll probably be dead or at least have parasites soon. I did awesome on this card at least, so I got that going for me.

Aldo should go to 155 soon anyway. He's either going to have no meaningful contenders left or not be champion anymore after the Conor fight, so he should move up. Barao has just looked...not so good lately. He seems slower and easier to hit.

Jan 2nd UFC 195 card:

Aldo vs. McGregor
Ronda vs. Tate III
CM Punk vs. TBA

Add a couple barn burner fighters that always bring it (like Tony Ferguson) for the hardcore fanbase.

That card breaks UFC 100's record and does 1.8 million PPV buys.

You could add Jon Jones vs Daniel Cormier II to that card, **** ain't skin's 1.8million. Nothing short of Fedor vs Brock in a steel cage is.

The thing with Conor and Ronda is they're both arguably the two biggest current stars in the UFC however they each draw from different fan bases. Add CM Punk who has the most twitter followers in the UFC and has loyal fans that are accustomed to paying a PPV price to watch him entertain. It would be a mega card and we'd see the UFC flex their marketing muscle for that event.

Actually, CM Punk doesn't have anywhere near as many followers on Twitter as Anderson does and I just double checked that. I don't think 1. CM Punk is as much of a draw as some do. 2. if Conor vs Aldo does 1million, I don't think Conor vs Aldo + Rousey vs Tate does more than 1.2million. It reaches a point of diminishing return.

Great performance by TJ and I agree with the general consensus that Barao should try his luck at 145. He probably wouldn't get a crack at the belt in that now-stacked division, but it beats feeling like death on fight week just to get beat down by the champ again.

Perhaps you're right @Nomad. I could see CM Punk adding about 200k buys to any UFC PPV card he's on. So that might not make it close to breaking the 1.7 million UFC 100 card.

I know they're trying to get Frankie Edgar on the UFC 191 card to help pad the star power. How about the UFC steps up and does whatever it takes to get Dillashaw vs. Edgar in the main event.

Aldo and McGregor aren't fighting until January and the UFC will probably make an immediate rematch between Aldo and McGregor regardless of the winner. That would probably delay Frankie from fighting for the FW title until late 2016. He's no spring chicken. Edgar should just step up and drop down to 135, and fight for the title there since he can just step right in and fight for the BW belt straight away.

I am totally on board with Barao moving up to 145lbs, Renan Barao says he starts camp at 172lbs, guys Ben Henderson walks around 172lbs, McGregor says he walks around anywhere from 165-170lbs. I do not know what the deal is with Barao, I know people 5'9 170lbs, they are way bigger than Barao. Either way, he's got a large frame for 135lbs, cuts a lot of weight and tends to gas. We can't know until he moves up, how significant of a speed advantage he will have, how his take down defense will carry over or how much power and endurance he will get from not having to cut so much weight but as far as the title picture....he's out of it; for the foreseeable future and moving up makes the most sense.  Who knows, 145lbs is a lions den and the deepest division in the sport in my opinion. With young men coming up like Mirsad Betkic, Max Holloway, Charles Oliveira, Doo Ho Choi, Amirkhani, Yair Rodriguez and many more....guys at the top like Edgar, Mendes, Aldo and McGregor...guys like Korean Zombie coming back and guys like Lamas and Bermudez being sent down the ranks, may be 145lbs will be too much for Barao, maybe not. I'd like to see it.

As for Edgar. Guys, Edgar is old....what, 34? He's got miles on him too, don't you guys remember all the fights he was battered and rocked? He relies on his technique and speed, I'm just not sure what he's going to be able to do vs young freaks like Dillashaw and Aljamain. Sure 135 is a much shallower division but history states the lower you go, the older you are and he's already plenty old. I don't think 135lbs does him any better than 145 and he should stay at 145.

Ok just got done watching the 1st of the prelims and wow, every MMA coach needs to keep that video handy as a reminder that being the better fighter does not win you a fight if you have zero fight IQ. Duke never got taken down yet ended up on bottom for the majority of rds 1 & 2, refused to use her length at all in the standup with the exception of one push kick in the 3rd, and was constant fodder for Joe's BJJ instructionals on what not to do as far as trying subs or holding position.

I'm torn on whether or not she should be cut now. Last night I thought she was gone for sure going 1-3 but after watching the fight it's clear she's the better fighter. Is Barnett that bad a coach? Was it the ultimate brain fart? Someone please explain that performance.

and yeah Nijem got hosed. Fun fight that goes to show why you should always be trying to finish because judging is an opinion. And as time goes by Nijem KOing Dariush continues to creep up the upset list.

A TUF prospect not living up to expectations? That never happens. If theres a chance of Duke salvaging her career its in Invicta or on the regional scene. Even though the UFC WBW division isn't very deep the fighters who are there are legit and if you're not at their level you're going to lose and lose often. Duke clearly isn't ready for the UFC. It didn't help that she latched onto Ronda and Shayna and they tried to hype themselves up as an elite force before they had accomplished anything.
