The Ultimate Fighter 18 Finale Wiki Update Wiki
The Ultimate Fighter 18 Finale featuref the tournament finals for the Men's and first ever women's 135 pound division. Although only the finalists were fighting officially for UFC contracts, two additional women's fights from the season were added to the card and the winners of those fights will likely be kept on by the promotion. The only two women not given spots on the Finale card, Shayna Baszler and Sarah Moras, are both injured.
The Main Event features the trilogy fight for Nate Diaz and Gray Maynard. Although the two have only officially fought once before, in which Maynard took a split decision, the two fought in the semi finals of The Ultimate Fighter 5 where Diaz won by second round submission.
A flyweight title fight between champion Demetrious Johnson and Joseph Benavidez was briefly set to headline the card but was later moved to UFC on Fox 9 after the main event for that card was scrapped.
The two finals winners will be the thirty and thirty first Ultimate Fighter winners crowned.
UFC debuter, Josh Sampo, weighed in at 127.5 pounds for a scheduled flyweight fight.
The fight between Maximo Blanco and Akira Corassoni would end in a disqualification of Blanco after he landed a knee to the face of Corassoni while he still had a knee and hand on the mat. Referee Mario Yamasaki ruled it a "disqualification due to intentional foul".
Chris Holdsworth would win the TUF Mens crown with a second round submission of Grant. Pena would also secure a finish to become the first ever TUF Womens division winner when she earned a TKO with one second left in the first round.
