I really like Carlos Condit, he's a very exciting fighter, but tonight he showed up to win and not to fight or entertain the fans which is the point of MMA, believe it or not.  I think I'm more pissed off at Greg Jackson than I am with Carlos though.  Carlos has never been in a boring fight before tonight, but this performance has Greg Jackson written all over it.

In my opinion Carlos was definitely running from Diaz at some points.  If you turn your back to your opponent and start moving, I don't see what else you can call it.  Also I look at the fighter's intention to finish a fight.  Carlos never intended to finish this fight.  He rarely even put any power into his strikes.  I'd say the majority of his strikes came while back peddling.

I'll admit that I am a HUGE Nick Diaz fan and always will be, but this fight was just ********.  I don't blame Diaz at all if he doesn't fight in the UFC ever again.  There's nothing wrong with wanting to fight guys who show up to fight.  I know it's what I wanna see.

With that said, good job at sticking to a gameplan for Carlos.  He absolutely won this fight, but he also lost a chunk of my respect as well as others'.

Never have I ever been in a venue where the attitude is geared towards one fighter.  Diaz was getting more chants in every way possible during the fight.  Only me and a few others were rooting for Condit.  Needless to say I cannot speak when I realized that Condit won.  Even though I scored it in favor of Diaz.  I erupted with excitement and so glad that Condit crushed all of his haters.

Condit was being smacked talked up and down by both the fans and Diaz.  It wasn't the most impressive fight, but I'm happy for Condit.  And I'm very impressed at how well he implemented his game plan.

@lynx. your points are valid but todays judges are not scoring ring aggression and octagon control. if that was truly half the fight diaz did indeed win. condit did execute a perfect gameplan so i would blame the judges and not condit or jackson.  i would be interested in fightmetrics numbers.

FightMetric numbers are already out, there's another thread around here where it came up.  48-47 condit was the end tally, but there's obv a lot more you can look at within FightMetric stats for a fight...

I don't care if I get down voted.  The bottom line is that Diaz has fanboys that cannot cope with a loss.  The guys around me repeated the same jokes and dished out no respect for Condit.  Condit has his game plan and he worked it well.  I never once hated Nick Diaz, I respect the hell out of him and hope that he doesn't retire.  The fact of the matter is that Condit won.  And now Diaz fanboys are going to bash the hell out of it because they are Diaz fanboys.

Looks to me that Condit was outworking Diaz in the Fight and pretty funny that Diaz was the one trying to use "that wrestling ****"

Carlos Condit took the interim welterweight title at UFC 143 and took another distinction as well. He landed 68 leg kicks against Nick Diaz, setting the record for most leg kicks landed in a single fight. The previous record was 49, landed by Donald Cerrone in his fight against Vagner Rocha, which remains the record for a three-round fight. Through three rounds, Condit had only landed 42 leg kicks.

@ Crumx7 - Now hold on, I'm a fan of Nick Diaz, and I think that Diaz won the fight. I refer you to Rampage vs. Machida. Rampage won that fight by aggression alone, and I felt that Machida won that fight. Mainly because he landed the more effective strikes and did more damage. With that said, I felt the same way about Diaz vs. Condit, however; Condit didn't land the more effective strikes, he DID NOT do more damage, and he was running away from Nick Diaz the entire time.

If it would've been a split decision or a draw, I could've dealt with the decision a lot better, but 49-46 for Condit? Really? You've got to be ******* kidding me. What fight were those judges watching? I had the the 1st round razor thin for Diaz, the 2nd round clearly for Nick Diaz, the 3rd round razor thin for Condit, the 4th round clearly for Condit, and the 5th round clearly for Diaz. By my count, that's 48-47 for Diaz. Diaz won that fight, and I should be 11 for 11 with 6 perfect.

Statistically, 49-46 is justified.
(I had it tied or borderline Condit 48-47)
