ok so i created this ranking to put only fighters that have fought this year (and only considering their fights this year).
i think this helps in having a more precise ranking when the year is over.

I agree with ur list but man barboza has a strong case for number 1 cause of the KO (and of course its only so far this year)

however you do have to consider quality of opponent so I guess ur list is perfect

We are 22 days into the year. Which means only a handful of fighters have actually fought.

Just in the UFC alone you have a total of 20 fighters that could make your top 10 list.

Strikeforce has 9 and Bellator has 0.

So youre basically picking 10 out of the 29 total winners in major promotions so far this year.

Way too early to tell.

@Heroak the idea is to keep updating it with more fights happening.
this way i think you'll have a more precise ranking at the end.

the results right now are not important i agree, but thats not the concept...

chris weidman gets number 4 to me followed by Sonnen.
even losing i gave Bisping a good position.

You can't talk about 2012 fighter of the year in January. Maybe 6 months in you can start to think about it.

he can do anything he wants. i like the idea of updating month to month to see who rises and who falls. plus its strikeforce 3 ufc fighters 0. with diaz and griggs next. i told you SF fighters would hold there own. :- }

i guess some people agree and understand why the ranking is done.
and others dont, no biggie.

to me, i think its better to avaliate after every fight so nobody is forgotten.
and the fights at the end of the year dont get overvalued.

yeah good idea to keep it updated, hence why my subs/ko/event of year gets updated every week.
il refrain from this for now and start as fighters get their second fight of the year (if i remember)

I'm only added fighters fights finishes events etc to the best of rankings if they deserve it and I think they still will be considered once the year is over, I'm not going to fill out a top 10 just for the sake of having a complete ranking

oh yes, thats what i meant. events im putting all i see up (so at the end of the year if theres somthing everyone else ranks i can tell wether i just didnt like it or wether i missed it and need to watch it) but my subs is only like 4 long- im not putting every rnc up- just what impresses me, same for ko.
hence why i dont want to put fighters on this untill they fight twice - no one can be fighter of the year on one fight so i cant consider them yet

I think this will be Rockhold's breakout year (although his win over Jacare last year was very impressive).

I can't say Rockhold is going to do much this year. His win over Jardine made him look worse in my eyes, actually. Looked so sloppy.

updated after the weekend's fights.
the two biggest additions are Carlos Condit and Renan Barão.
both had good wins over very strong opposition, but are not higher because were decisions.
