You could argue he didn't beat Arlovski either. Sakai absorbs a lot of strikes and his accuracy is sub 50%.

Tai should be the slight favourite here. Bookies have it right. Tuivasa has only really struggled against good counter Boxers and grapplers. I wouldn't describe Sakai as either of those things.

Not saying Tuivasa is a lock.  But in no way is Sakai either.

Don't even understand why you guys are arguing this. Gritty, with the power of numerology, showed us who will be victorious-

"**Augusto Sakai wins.

Sakai can secure his 16th career win at UFC 269.
Sakai = 16
Sakai can also improve to 5-2 in UFC action.

Las Vegas NV USA = 52

T-Mobile Arena = 52

Tai Bam Bam Tuivasa = 52

He's a special kind of ******** that's for sure. You'd think that having a pick rate significantly less than the average of picking the favourites every card would have made him realise Gematria is horse ****.

I have no problem with Tai being the favourites or people picking him, it a close fight, I have a problem with so many people calling Tai the lock of the card when he ain’t, Tai has so many question that Sakai will answer because he not a fighter they’re to be KO”D like every one of Tai wins in the UFC, its a real fight for Tai, Tai is 0-3 against them

@Duck the Tap consensus shouldn't really be read as a degree of  communal confidence.  I like to pretend it does represent that, because it makes calling people ******** more enjoyable, and is more likely to earn me downvotes, but in reality the majority pick doesn't explain a whole lot. For example, I think Tai has somewhere between a 55-60% probability of winning. Which is such a slight advantage it almost has no meaning. I suspect a lot of the members here are in the same boat and picked Tuivasa at a similar rate of confidence.

As usual, I do my picks from the ****ter and that about what I expect from my picks. I watch no tApe, so no research, nor will I figure out a statistic mayh equation and already spent about as much time typing this as I ever will on picks. I’m up on the actual gambling cause I only put money down on when the odds and and feeling is right.

I feel like there will be a record number of Round 1 finishes on this card.  I don't know what the record is for the UFC but there should be at least 5 or more first round finishes on this card.  Nearly every fighter on this card has multiple Round 1 finishes under their belt.

Dustin is giving me budget McGegor vibes. Hawking his hot sauce gimmick at every opportunity, taking the private jets, staying in the mansions, wearing designer brands. Charles is still hungry, I'm fading Dustin hard.

I feel like ryan hall could go on a 15 fight losing streak and I'd still pick him every single time.

Prediction Comments

Predictions: 5 of 14 Winners, 3 Perfect, 350 Points   |   Tied for 3858th

Oliveira vs. Poirier
Dustin Poirier, TKO, R3
Poirier might be my most disliked fighter in all of the ufc but I’m done betting against him I know it’s his time I know he’s really good I’ll **** and stop hating go get ya belt diamond

Nunes vs. Peña
Amanda Nunes, TKO, R1
Nunes BY MURDER

Neal vs. Ponzinibbio
Santiago Ponzinibbio, TKO, R3
Geoff coming out of prison ponz won a war with baeza who else would I pick here

Kara-France vs. Garbrandt
Cody Garbrandt, TKO, R2
No love looked good cutting down to flyweight and it shocked me kai has knockout power and in my opinion is a very well flyweight but I think Cody will be a problem for the flyweights excluding the top 3

O'Malley vs. Paiva
Raulian Paiva, TKO, R2
Sean’s my favorite fighter on the roster but he’s still not proven picking the dog who beat Phillips and impressed me in that fight for his perseverance

Emmett vs. Ige
Dan Ige, TKO, R2
Very well could be FOTN easily see this one going either way

Munhoz vs. Cruz
Dominick Cruz, DEC
Pedro could catch dom here and put his lights out but betting on dom Cruz getting caught is like betting on a one legged man to win a marathon it’s just not happening

Sakai vs. Tuivasa
Augusto Sakai, DEC
We all expect a finish here so I’ll pick against it lol Sakai is pretty boring as is and if he ties tai up against the cage it’s going 15 minutes

Silva vs. Wright
Bruno Silva, TKO, R1
Jordan has fought no one but cans and he lost to Buckley let’s be real here Bruno Silva might knock this kids head off

Muniz vs. Anders
André Muniz, DEC
Muniz should win this fairly easily and honestly should get a finish but i feel this will be one of the more boring fights honestly

Blanchfield vs. Maverick
Erin Blanchfield, DEC
Taking the dog because I think Miranda’s a hype job just like barber

Hall vs. Minner
Darrick Minner, SUB, R1
Ryan hall should win but I’ll take the dog WHOS also really well balanced on the mat

Costa vs. Kelley
Tony Kelley, SUB, R3
I wanna pick the zohan but Tony is battle tested and has a better gas tank

Cachoeira vs. Robertson
Priscila Cachoeira, TKO, R3
I know she missed weight but I favor her because of striking

Prediction Comments

Predictions: 10 of 14 Winners, 6 Perfect, 770 Points   |   Tied for 80th

Oliveira vs. Poirier
Charles Oliveira, SUB, R1
This fight is so hard to call and I don't want either guy to lose but I'm taking Oliveira. I truly think he's going to be a problem for Dustin if this fight hits the mat and Charles can even submit him standing up. I think it plays out a little bit like the Chandler fight.

Nunes vs. Peña
Amanda Nunes, TKO, R1
Peña keeps talking and talking and she's just gonna talk herself into getting killed. Peña is a legit great fighter but come on we all know she has no chance here. Peña got submitted by a ******* kickboxer. I think Nunes ground and pounds her in round 1.

Neal vs. Ponzinibbio
Santiago Ponzinibbio, TKO, R2
Geoff Neal can bang but I'm taking Santiago in this spot. I think Santiago is better than him almost everywhere but we've seen Santiago hurt and finished before. This fight will be close but I have to side with Ponzinibbio.

Kara-France vs. Garbrandt
Cody Garbrandt, TKO, R1
So many questions coming into this fight, but I'm leaning Cody Garbrandt. Kai Kara-France had an amazing comeback win against Bontorin and we can't sleep on him but there are levels to this and we're gonna find out if Cody was meant for flyweight and we will see how good his chin holds up.

O'Malley vs. Paiva
Sean O'Malley, TKO, R2
One day someone will expose O'Malley, but it's 10000% not going to be Paiva. I'm actually worried for Paiva here. Yes, he's tough but look at what Phillips did to Paiva. O'Malley will just do worse things to him.

Emmett vs. Ige
Josh Emmett, DEC
I'm taking Josh Emmett. I think he's gonna throw a couple of huge punches and then just implement his wrestling. I'm worried about him missing time with a huge injury but he should be ok. Ige is a live dog though.

Munhoz vs. Cruz
Dominick Cruz, DEC
Is Munhoz overrated? This is a huge test for him here. Cruz showed that he isn't washed when he beat a decent prospect in Casey Kenney. I think this will be a pretty easy fight for Cruz if we're being honest. Cruz is a legend.

Sakai vs. Tuivasa
Tai Tuivasa, TKO, R1
I see some people picking Sakai but I just can't back him here. Yes, he has fought the better opponents, but he's very low output and Tuivasa will probably back him into a corner and finish him with a great knockout.

Silva vs. Wright
Bruno Silva, TKO, R1
Jordan Wright is a great hammer, but not a great nail. Silva should brutally knock him out here. Look at who Silva has fought on the regional scene as well. Silva is the former M1 champ and Wright is from Alaska FC. That's all the needs to be said.

Muniz vs. Anders
André Muniz, SUB, R1
Muniz made Jacare look like a fool on the mat. That's all that has to be said here. Anders has good takedown defense but he better hope it's good enough to stuff one from Muniz or he's gonna get subbed.

Blanchfield vs. Maverick
Erin Blanchfield, DEC
Why would the UFC make these two top prospects fight right now? But anyways, I'm leaning Blanchfield. I think she's strong enough to get Maverick down to the ground and we've seen Maverick taken down a bunch of times before. Maverick is the striker here but I'd argue that Erin actually has better striking than Miranda. Both of them are the real deal but I just think Blanchfield is better and has a way higher ceiling.

Hall vs. Minner
Ryan Hall, SUB, R2
Ryan Hall will tire Minner out in round 1 and then in round 2 he will sub him. Minner has been subbed so many times. Hall has underrated striking and kicks.

Costa vs. Kelley
Randy Costa, TKO, R1
Costa obviously needs to pace himself better in fights but he's very skilled. I think he lands a head kick on Tony Kelley and finishes him. If he doesn't get the first round finish, Kelley may end up pulling away with a win. I just don't think Kelley is good enough to expose Costa.

Cachoeira vs. Robertson
Gillian Robertson, SUB, R1
Cachoeira doesn't really have to much skill, but she's very very tough and deserves some credit. Robertson panics if she can't get the fight down to the mat but I think she does. Robertson will get the sub quick and early.
