The fighters are weighed in and we're set to go after a rocky start.

Lineker and Gastelum badly missed weight (4 lbs and 9 lbs, respectively), BUT those fights are A GO!!! Both Lineker and Gastelum were fined 30% of their purses, which will be given to their opponents.

Prelims are set for UFC Fight Pass at 630pm ET, followed by the televised prelims on FS1 at 8pm and then the PPV main card at 10pm.

In fairness, this is probably similar to the Rumble Johnson situation from back in the day in that Gastelum was likely down closer to 171, but was forced on IV fluids by the medical staff, ballooning him back up quickly.

This is ridiculous. It's seriously pissing me off. Guys need to stop trying to cut that extra 10 or 15 pounds if they can't do it properly. UFC might need to take a harder stance on this too. Really annoying when you see a guy like Rumble who took a huge step up in his career by not doing an insane weight cut and then these guys are getting hospitalized, getting fights cancelled, being fined.

I'm starting to think there needs to be a study on training methods too or something. It's really weird how some guys like Weidman seem to get injured constantly. I'd like to know what they're doing to cause this.

There are loads of studies and there a better ways to cut weight. I mean both the dudes have bigger opponents who never miss weight and look great while doing so. The problem here is lack of discipline throughout camp and trying to knock most of it off in the last 2 days.

They leave no room for error and a lot of the time, the body can stop sweating and the weight stops coming off.

Gleison Tibau is the perfect example, dude decided that 155 was the weight class he wants to fight in even though he's a huge 155er, so he makes the sacrifice that comes with it. He diets all year round and cuts scientifically. He doesn't go about his business, shooting guns on fight week thinking he's gonna drop 20lbs in 2 days every time.
