Predictions: 4 of 10 Winners, 2 Perfect, 250 Points   |   Tied for 885th

Prelims are set to stream on Facebook at 5pm ET followed by a quality six-fight main card on FOX Sports 1.

Had a few shaky-looking fighters at weigh-ins today, so pick lines might be changing. Seems like there are quite a few bouts with serious upset potential on this card, right through to the main event.

I think all the fights are being broadcast on Fox Sports 1 Skelli, no FB fights.

Also, why was Palhares crying? Did he accidentally smother a kitten before weigh-ins?

I thought I read that Fox Sports 2 were getting half of the fights and the main card was going to be on Fox Sports 1.

I want to pick Kim, but Erick Silva really impressed me in his loss to Fitch. I think this time he passes the test.

My grandson is picking Erick Silva, and I was as well. However, after watching the weigh-ins and seeing how much larger Kim is, I switched my pick to Kim. The blueprint to beat Silva was laid out by Fitch and although Kim might not possess the grappling and wrestling skills as Fitch, I see Kim being successful at avoiding Erick Silva's standup threat by taking him down and controlling him on the mat en route to a UD decision.

Hmmm. As of yesterday, they were scheduled to air on FB, but according to UFC.com, the whole card will be on FS1. Not gonna complain about that.

Am I the only one PPV level excited about this card?

Maia vs Shields
Silva vs Kim
Pierce vs Palhares
Dillashaw vs Assuncao
Hammil vs Thiago
Beltran vs Fabio

And Im just happy to see Ildemar and Cabral fighting, two really talentef Welterweights out of Brazil that I think could grow into top 15 guys, especially Alcantara.

Man! I can't believe Thiago Silva missed weight ... I mean, it can happen and cutting weight sucks, but if you look at his "body of work" you can't help but feel that the dude just can't muster up the maturity to take this sport as seriously as he should ... I mean if Paul Harris can make 170 (which, after watching the weigh-ins, I don't think is a good cut for him, he looked like he was going to pass out) with those tree-trunks he calls legs, there's no reason on earth Thiago can't make 205 unless he started cutting too late because he couldn't be assed to start eating less a bit earlier during camp, thinking "ah, I've done it a thousand times before" and leaving it too close ... total disrespect to the guy you're fighting who suffered too to make weight, in my eyes.

Thiago is ******* huge the few times Ive seen the guy. Hes a thick, wide dude who bulks up inbetween fights. Anyone would think this guy was a Heavyweight if they ran into him on the street.

I can imagine he bulks up to 240lbs, so depending on how many months out he adjusts his diet, cardio and ups it to 2 a days or 3 a days rather than off season 1  adays I can imagine him missing weight. No excuse for it though, a gym like ATT or Blackzillians should have their own nutritionist for their teams.

Yeah, but if you know you're a huge dude for the weight-class who loves chowing down between fights, you should take it on yourself to buckle down before the fight and not leave it to the last minute and try to cut as much in the sauna ... loads of fighters have said that sometimes you reach a point that you stop sweating and weight stops coming off ... you need to leave the last 7-9 lbs for the final cut, not try to sweat off 15lbs in the last couple of hours before the weigh-ins ...

Anyway, in his case, I don't think it's got anything to do with his camp, he seems like the type of guy that no one can get him to do anything he doesn't want to do ... he's just got enough talent to stay relevant even without training as much as he should or keeping a top athlete's lifestyle ... if that dude had Sonnen-esque work ethic he'd be something special ...

I mean, everything was going his way once and pissed hot twice, now, again, everything's going his way, he's just come off a very good win, he's got himself a gimme fight in front of a home crowd with the UFC looking like they want to build him back up (while sending Hammil back into retirement) and then he goes and misses weight.

Some dudes just don't get it ... he'll never be top 5 just because of that kind of attitude ...

The ones I'm a bit less confident in are:

Dong (thinking he'll smother Silva, but Erick can end a fight on a heartbeat and nearly finished Fitch)
Cariaso (faster and better boxing, Illiarde likes to keep it standing and has suspect cardio for a 125er)
And maybe Assunção (I just think he's the better fighter as of now, but that Alpha male karma when not fighting for a belt might bite me in the ass)

I agree it's toughest fight on the card to pick. I'm taking Silva but I could also easily see Kim beating him with wrestling the way Fitch did. He has really good takedowns and top control , I just think Silva catches him something over the course of the 3 rds.
