Pierce vs. Palhares Wiki Update Wiki
Following his controversial submission win over Mike Pierce, Rousimar Palhares was denied his Submission of the Night bonus by the UFC due to unsportsman-like conduct. Palhares held onto the leglock after several taps from Pierce and even torqued the submission hold further during referee Keith Peterson's intervention. UFC President Dana White announced that the promotion would be moving forward with a formal punishment for the offense, and the Brazilian commission would be conducting their own investigation.
