Strikeforce in its very last breath goes out with a bang. Strikeforce presents "A Farewell To Arms"
Since 2006 Strikeforce has been entertaining the public with Mixed Martial Arts and now after the signing with ZUFFA, as of January 12th, 2013, Strikeforce shall be no more.

It wasn't the weight cut bill. It wasn't his t-level either. It was the guy he fought. Tarec slowed him down with some brutal leg kicks. It was a good game plan from Hendo and company. Nate just wasn't able to get in any kind of rythym. Sometimes it's just not your night.

Because Greg Jackson wasn't in his corner. Trevor Wittman should have told him. Nate knew that already though. Why he didn't only he knows. My guess is he was willing to eat some leg kicks to land some shots of his own. It just didn't work out tonight for him. He'll be back.

Marquardt limped to his seat on the stage at the post-fight news conference at Chesapeake Energy Arena. When the press conference was over, after sitting for 30 minutes during the proceedings with ice on the leg, he needed help walking out, the leg getting more purple after the fight than it even appeared during the fight itself after Saffiedine continued to attack it throughout the 25 minutes.
anyone have the video?

Also, I just want to add about the Saffiedine vs. Marquardt fight that despite being beaten thoroughly I give Nate a tremendous amount of credit in the loss for his heart and determination to keep fighting on basically one leg. Tough loss, but he'll be back strong. On the other side, the future looks brighter for Tarec Saffiedine than almost anyone thought after closing out the last Strikeforce event ever by winning the belt.
