Strikeforce in its very last breath goes out with a bang. Strikeforce presents "A Farewell To Arms"

Since 2006 Strikeforce has been entertaining the public with Mixed Martial Arts and now after the signing with ZUFFA, as of January 12th, 2013, Strikeforce shall be no more.

The Current Strikeforce Welterweight Champion Nate "The Great" Marquardt shall defend is title against contender Tarec "Sponge" Saffiedine in the last Title Match in Strikeforce history.

For being a Non-UFC card this event is very stacked with other big named fighters. Other than the current SF Champion and former UFC title challenger Marquardt the card also includes, Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix Winner Daniel "DC" Cormier, PRIDE FC Grand Prix Finalist Josh "The Warmaster" Barnett, BJJ Elite Jacare Souza, Dream Middleweight Grand Prix and former Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Champion Gegard Mousasi, Former US Army Ranger Tim Kennedy, and much much more.

Well who else is out there that they can match them up with that are not signed with other promotions? outside of the UFC there are not really many known heavyweights that can support a main card status of a major promotion. so credit to SF for at least trying.

Remember
DC was supposed to fight Frank Mir
and a rematch with Barnett does not make sense at the current time.

And basically this is the audition for the big show that is the UFC for most of these fighters.

Yea, i guess so lol should be some easy wins for all 3 of them, and neither fight should get outta the 1st round. Roger, and Josh via submission, and DC via KO

I don't know a lot about this  Dion Staring character but one things is for sure and that is that that is some sexy chest hair he got..................... but I think he shaved it for his debut.

Zuffa must have a chest hair policy. Bastards

I'm pretty sure they want them all to have impressive wins to bolster their first UFC fights. Plus, if they have an easier fight, they are less likely to get hurt and therefore more likely to start in the UFC asap

If they wouldn't bring Barnett over cause he peed hot a looong time ago, they shouldn't be letting Overeem back in or a number of other fighters that have failed drug tests. They would be stupid to pass up the star power that he carries. He's not that well known to casuals but his record is impressive and he would make his presence know quickly

Im sure Dana will bring Barnett over just because he wont want him going to Bellator. But remember Barnett didnt just piss hot . he was the first person to test positive for 3 anabolic steroids in one go. and that was after a warning when he tested positive after UFC 34 before the big bust after the Coture fight. then he tested positive before fighting Fedor.

Dana doesn't seem to like Barnett at all, but he would be a big name to add to the roster. I do not wanna see Barnett fight in Bellator. You may as well just hand him the belt considering the lack of talent at the Bellator HW division.

^^^Josh Barnett was P4P the best commentator (via Twitter) on the Zuffa summit last year. Like 90% of his tweets there were certified gold.

Lol. I love Miguel Torres. The day of that summit made me very happy that i'm on twitter. They kept bagging on Menjivar for his not so stellar English.

Nate fighting on Strikeforce's final card doesn't belong in the "Strikeforce: The Grand Finale" thread? My mistake.
