As someone who's interested in backing Do Bronx, what do you guys think about the line?
He continues to get better on price (up to +145 in some spots), and my opinion all along has been to wait, that most casuals are going to bet Poirier and the line will continue to steam...anyone agree?

yeah. Poitier will never be underdog ever again after having 2 wins over Conor. Now, is he still a very valid threat to Oliviera? yes. But I think the line will continue to get wider as people really underrate do bronx

yup. I thought chandler would steamroll him in round 1. I was half right but I totally underestimated how much his striking has improved. I think the public has the perception that olivieras success has just come from him relying on how good his bjj is, but his striking has came a really long way too. He can definitely hang with dustin on the feet although I will say dustin is probably at a striking advantage

Yeah that line is going to keep getting wider as all of the McCasuals come in to bet on Poirier, and those bets are going to come in late because they won't hear about this fight until commercials during midweek football games.

This is a dream match up
I've watched both these men since their beginning in the UFC (Poirier from WEC to UFC)
I went with Chandler against Charles via first round KO, man when he dropped him and didn't finish him?!

I'm not sure who to go with, but gut is saying Charles.

Yeah a lot of  people are saying Poirier has more ability to dig deep and work through adversity but I don't know if that's true after seeing that comeback win against Chandler.

Imo Do Bronx has more ways to win the fight than Poirier. All of the wrestling, grappling, and BJJ go to Do Bronx. Striking leans Poirier but Oliviera is no slouch in that area and can KO anyone.

It's pretty simple really Dustin is the better striker but well rounded, Charles is by far the better grappler also well rounded.
The key is that Charles has been stopped a lot, and has never kod anyone with a good chin.
His best ko is obviously Mike C, whereas Dustin has a highlight reel and against deadly strikers.

also Charles isn't that same guy who quits anymore. I saw those losses and assumed chandler would mollywhop him, but he showed tenacity and also showed u gotta kill him to get him out of there. I think hes gonna surprise dustin with his striking too; can you believe the most dangerous bjj guy in the division ko'ed chandler, one of the most powerful hitters in LW? crazy. Do bronx at an underdog is such a good bet

I can't stop thinking that what makes us love Dustin (putting himself into danger and chasing the fight a little too much sometimes) is exactly the wrong matchup vs a technician like Oliveira who only needs an exposed neck for a second.

But we're also kinda breezing past the fact that Chandler DID dominate the striking exchange, and had he not dived into Charles' guard, he'd probably have won by first round KO, and all the previous narratives would have been proven true.

Dustin can do all that, but without the glass chin or gassing late. Dustin will still be dogging him in the 5th, if it gets there.

One thing I'm thinking about today, Is Cody Garbrant the biggest one hit wonder in MMA history, I think he has a strong argument for being so, He look so good against Dominiqe Cruz, But since then, He 1-4 and that win is a old Assusio, And he didn't even derseve the Dom Cruz fight before, He got it for beating Thomas Almeda and Takeya Mizagati

I think it also crazy that the Cody Garbrant vs Dom Cruz fight was already 5 years ago, They be a few of the hardcores who never seen that fight and wonder what the hype on Cody, I swear a lot of people including me still pick Cody everytime just because that performance agaist Cruz was that good

I will say this fight might be one of the biggest for Cody, He doesn't want to be a one hit wonder, 1-5 in the UFC and most likely cut as he'll be on the former champion money, I'm rooting for him to be so as I really like him,I'm exited for it as it also big for Kai to beat a former champion, it be a banger

Why is Alex Perez favored by 92 percent on here against Matt Schnell?  Surely Schnell has a better chance than that right?  Am I missing something here?

The one other element Poirier has in his arsenal...Do Bronx has shown a vulnerability to guillotine chokes, and I could see a scenario where Dustin goes for that in some grappling exchanges.

I think you are underrating Cody a bit...he has been fighting the best of the best, and hardly embarrassed himself. He knocked TJ down in the 1st fight, and had the round been a bit longer probably would've stopped it. Who knows if TJ was doping during those fights too. He was beating Munoz but let his fight IQ get the best of him and turn into a brawl bro. He has had pretty severe back problems and had to get stem cell treatments (in germany i think?) and had a severe bout with COVID too, so he certainly has had his fair share of issues. I always wanted to see Cody drop down though because he never cut much weight, and he did leave himself at a size disadvantage quite a few times (especially against Font). I think we will see a vintage Cody performance against Kai, unless somehow the weight cut does drain him, you never know unfortunately, but I would lean on the former.

Perez is favored cuz hes just better than schnell everywhere. Schnell is super chinny at FLW and Perez has better bjj than him, which is schnell's entire game.

I agree Cody is mad overrated, but people are just saying a lot of untrue things about him. He cut 10 pounds to make bantamweight; this cut is going to be nothing for him. His chin being weak is just nonsense too; watch those three losses, he lost because he decided to get in a brawl and leave his chin up. Also im not going to hold the font loss against him because I dont know who the **** thought Cody would ever stand a chance against font. KKF is mad underrated yes, but flyweight top 15 is much different skill wise then BW top 15. Bontorin is his best win and I dont think bontorin would even be top 25 if he went to bantamweight (which he easily could im almost positive bontorin is 155 or more walk around).

yeah thats definitely something to take note of, but dont forget that Do bronx knocked chandler out. Thats crazy in and of its self; chandler is one of the most explosive and best strikers in that division and he ended up getting ko'ed. say what you want about his chin, but to see a guy who we know has some of the best bjj in the entire ufc start knocking elite strikers out is crazy.

Poirier isn't like Chandler. He's not explosive in the same sense and is more of a measured technical Boxer. I don't think he has the same one-punch KO power that Chander does, or if he does, he's certainly not as likely to uncork it unless he's got his opponent hurt first, and throwing with uber heat on everything isn't  in his nature. It isn't instinctual the way it is with Chandler.

70/30 on Charles at this point.
