Kamaru Usman, DEC
And still!
Holloway vs. Volkanovski
Max Holloway, TKO, R4
Holloway has a special gift that makes extraordinary fighters look ordinary, and I think this is no different. I think Holloway lays it on him in the 3rd and takes him out in the 4th.
Nunes vs. de Randamie II
Germaine de Randamie, TKO, R1
Unpopular prediction on this one. I think Nunes comes out like a bat out of hell and GDR counters her. This is a 70/30 fight imo in favor of Nunes, but I'm going with the underdog.
Yan vs. Faber
Petr Yan, SUB, R1
I see a lot of people online favoring Urijah and I'm not buying it. I think Yan drops Faber and finishes him via submission.
Vieira vs. Aldana
Irene Aldana, TKO, R3
Unpopular prediction on this one, too.

It's possible he only picked up MMA as a pretense to get closer to ****, really. I mean it's not like he's going anywhere, and isn't aware of that fact.

Colby Covington, DEC
Lol who cares... Max and Volkanovski should've been the headliner. Covington is insufferable but also undeniable and Usman is still undefeated in the octagon. Both are unlikable, uncharismatic clowns who can't seem to knock anyone out, can't seem to learn BJJ, but can grind out anyone in the division for 5 rounds easy. They seem boring but absolutely dust everyone you put in front of them. So which of them does it to the other first? Usman seems to be physically stronger while Colby seems to have that Ferguson-level stamina. Both are not known as strikers, Usman seeming to have a muay-thai base and Colby, kick-boxing. I really don't think this fight will devolve into a striking match between the two of them, simply because they've got too much of their fight identities wrapped up in swamping their opponents with takedowns and top control. Who wins those exchanges is probably the most compelling part of this fight.
Holloway vs. Volkanovski
Max Holloway
So far the predominant case for Volkanovski seems to be power and his ability to put a pace that beats everyone else (and informally, that he thrives as the underdog.) Being the underdog against Max Holloway means you will lose usually at FW. I'm curious as to what gameplan Volkanovski has but it's very difficult to convince myself of it without watching the actual fight. I did think he'd get beaten by Chad, and Aldo, so will I be 0-3? and new? That's why I'm cautiously picking Max...
Nunes vs. de Randamie II
Amanda Nunes, TKO, R4
GDR has a lot of quasi-earned confidence in this fight. Sure her win over Ladd was an early stoppage (still think she would have won the fight) and she seems to think that Nunes isn't terrifying (she is) she has a lot going for her. If she can get any momentum behind her kickboxing it will be a protracted, methodical fight and rightfully so. However, and it's a huge however, is Amanda going to unleash her bottled lightning of I-Am-The-GOAT-And-You-Are-A-Pretender that has so far crumpled Cyborg, Holly, Ronda, Miesha, Pennington, and Valentina? It could obviously happen. I thought the Holm fight would go at *least 3 rounds.
Aldo vs. Moraes
Marlon Moraes, DEC
Move up to LW Jose. Please, I'm begging you.
Yan vs. Faber
Urijah Faber, SUB, R2
Somebody has to pick the California *MAN* and I will do it, no shame. Yan has so far looked good in all his fights, even though I think he only beat Jimmie Rivera because getting the one knockdown in a round you were otherwise losing still wins you it (a rule that sounds like it came from ONE.) He is almost certainly champ material and I wish this was the Aljo Sterling fight but this is what we got. I will proudly take this L.
Perry vs. Neal
Geoff Neal, DEC
Unless Perry can crush Neal with those clinch elbows that made him famous, i expect Neal to beat him like a drum for three rounds and knock on the door of the top 15 soon. Unless Bionic Hillbilly can crush his head somehow...
Heinisch vs. Akhmedov
Ian Heinisch
I like Ian and his life story. That's about it. He has good wrestling and I hope that he's been working on the head kick from the Brunson fight because it could actually be part of a well-developed striking offense if he takes it seriously. Otherwise, it's a tossup. Akhmedov is Dagestani and that's usually an enormous predictor of grit and ability, if not always winning. Let's see where the shoe drops because this is essentially a fight that decides who stays in the top 15 for now.
Moreno vs. Kara-France
Brandon Moreno, TKO, R2
Strangely enough, I think Moreno's growth speaks more than Kai's hype at this point. Kai has had a series of mostly okay decision wins while Moreno has demonstrated that he is more precise and composed in his striking and his grappling was already better. Probably a decision or sub, but I actually think Moreno will play this out like his Perez fight and hurt Kai on one of his lead-hand uppercuts by the end of the 2nd round, following up with GnP or a club-sub.

Going with GDR. Bigger, seems to have improved since last fight years ago. And I'm low on Brazilians right now.

Matt Brown, KO
I know that this a big favorite at -345 but I just see no way that Ben Saunders wins this fight. They turn the ceiling fans on in the T-Mobile Arena and all of sudden he gets woozy. Get there early because its Ben Saunders bobblehead night. The only guy he has beaten in his last six fights is Jake Ellenberger. Take Brown with confidence.
