Predictions: 10 of 12 Winners, 6 Perfect, 690 Points   |   Tied for 349th

The fighters are weighed in and we're set to go for Saturday night.

It's one of the most underwhelming cards of the year so far, especially with a PPV price tag attached to it, but we'll truck through!

Prelims kick off on UFC Fight Pass at 630pm ET before switching over to FS1 at 8pm. We hit the main card on PPV at 10pm.

Enjoy!

@yossgold I don't hate DJ.  I think his skill is undeniable and I applaud him for winning.  But the fact of the matter is he was dominating guys that were bigger than him in terms of height and reach at 135.  Hell, he took Dominick Cruz to a decision (back when Cruz was the #1 Bantamweight in the world).  Now he moves down to 125, a division where fighters are equal in height and reach, and he is just wiping the division out.  It's not even fun to watch him fight anymore.

I don't understand what the problem with that fight was. The first round was competitive. Then DJ gave a master class in wrestling. He refused to be content with a decision win, so he got a submission finish. Kyoji was a game opponent that was difficult to control enough to get into a position where DJ could finish the fight. I seriously don't get what the problem is.

For those that want are demanding DJ go up in weight, why? He's not even a large 125. The fighters at 135 are bigger and more skilled than they were 3 and a half years ago when DJ last fought there. A great little man beats a good big man, but if you have 2 great fighters (extremely similar in skill level) and one is at a serious size disadvantage, assume the larger man wins. For proof that the division is changing, just look at the top 10 then vs. now. The smaller guys either moved down or couldn't compete.

There are still fights for DJ at 125 (some more competitive than others). Formiga, Reis, Dodson, and Cejudo are all 1, 2, or 3 wins away from a title shot. Kyoji's young and there are a few other young talented fighters that given a couple years should challenge DJ, such as: Kyoji (24, two years from now he'll be better, and Mighty Mouse will be approaching the end of his prime), Borg (21, he's looked good in his fights, still a ways to go, but give it 2 years and I think he pans out as a solid fighter), Smolka (23, really inexperienced, but give it a couple years before writing him off).

The problem was that he just dry humped up until the finish, when he could have at least tried for submissions or finish via GNP once he takes him down.

@zarog  Because at the rate DJ's going, none of those guys will have enough time to get in that extra fight or two to sharpen their skills in time to take on the champ.  Johnson is leaps and bounds better than everyone in the division, and it's getting to the point that no one in the UFC's 125 division can compete with him.  And keep in mind, he isn't just pulling out wins by the skin of his teeth.  If that was the case, than I would agree that he should stay at 125.  Johnson is outright dominating everyone that enters the octagon against him.  So is it really fair to keep a guy who is just obliterating through the competition at 125 and not have him go up a division because of a "height disadvantage"?  A "disadvantage", by the way, that is mitigated by Mighty Mouse's skill and experience as a fighter?

Aldo's done the same thing. All it took to get people interested in him staying at 145 was McGregor.

Yes, it is fair. He makes the weight, that makes it fair.

Disadvantages aren't mitigated by skill when you're going to start comparing Cruz, Dillashaw, and Barao to DJ, because they aren't significantly less skilled. And all that BS about how DJ was great 135 is just plain stupid. It's not a reasonable comparison because he was fighting guys like Nick Pace (6-3, hasn't fought in 3+ years), Damacio Page (19-9, now a flyweight), Kid Yamamoto (18-6 w/ 2 NCs, he is 1-5 w/ 1 NC over his last 7 in the last 7+ years) and Miguel Torres (43-8, but has looked shot over the last 6 years, and by the way, in many people's eyes, including mine, DJ actually lost this fight). So comparing how he did at 135 3+ years ago has literally no bearing on the types of matchups he would actually have. The guys he was beating are relatively small, unathletic, unskilled in comparison to today's 135 division, or a combination of the three. Also, it's not a height disadvantage. There would be a significant weight disadvantage, thus defeating the whole ******* purpose of having weight classes. If DJ wants to move up, I'm cool with that, but I don't understand how people can be upset that he hasn't moved back to 135 simply because he's better than everyone.

Seriously, what to-do with Mighty Mouse? Showcase DJ vs Dodson II on FOX while grooming Cejudo for his title shot vs DJ as a co main event for a big PPV.

@grizzly  As good of a fighter Cejudo is, after the way tonight's fight went down, I doubt that he will do anything to remotely effect Johnson's game.

i cant remember ever getting such a high amount of points as i did for this event,720, and ranking so low 231st. when i seen i was in the 700's i figured i was top 3 for sure, apparently not. Now my shortish summary of the event for me. Maldonado should have won, this is the first time i can remember rooting for Bingbing(intentional), i was in a heated conversation/argument over how cutting people off when in a discussion is ridiculously frustrating and rude during a lot of the Johnson/Horiguchi fight, i was still watching but my attention was unfortunately divided, All the womens fights were awesome! Cote/Riggs could have went either way, i wanted yves to win but picked against him, vicious punch leading to the finish by Makdesi, Im not sure if Laprise/Barbarsoa was FOTN but not sure what other fight should be. For a card that was as highly criticized as this one, at the bar with a group of 7 friends with only 1 other as serious of MMA fanatic as I am and the drinks flowing as they were, i was totally satisfied with this card, in name value it was lacking in comparison to recent, lower tier events(FOX/FS1/FP) events, but in entertainment it was totally worth the 62something i spent at boston pizza, plus i got a free poster (the one with dillasaw and barao!)

Its never easy to win or get a top ten UFC ranking on an event. The best I got was 6th place for Jones vrs Gustafson. Was nowhere as close since then.
