And they've booked him against Matt Brown. While Brown is coming off of 3 straight wins and makes him look "hot" and credible as an opponent, he really is somewhat limited as a fighter. UFC are definitely looking for an exciting fight with Swick getting a fan-pleasing win.
Then you've got Penn vs Macdonald also at welterweight on the card. Of all of these welterweights, it's Macdonald with the potentially biggest and brightest future. If they can turn Macdonald into a known-commodity among casual fans, then it's really a win. Therefore I wouldn't be surprised to see Swick vs Macdonald headlining or co-main-eventing the next Fox card, if both win and both are injury-free.
It's taking a few leaps, but I'm sure the UFC brass think up matchmaking pathways like this.

They probably will not let Nick Diaz fight GSP coming right off his suspension, so I hope they let Rory MacDonald welcome Nick back. That fight would be a barn-burner, straight-up, guaranteed.
