It's the second UFC on FOX card to feature a title fight, the first being UFC on FOX 1, featuring Cain Velasquez versus Junior dos Santos for the Heavyweight title.
Three fights originally scheduled for the cancelled UFC 151 pay-per-view will take place at this event, including Dennis Siver versus Eddie Yagin, Daron Cruickshank versus Henry Martinez, and Tim Means versus Abel Trujillo.
A fight between Donald Cerrone and Anthony Pettis was initially rumored to take place at this event, however the fight is now confirmed for the sixth UFC on FOX event in January.
