@unbeknownst I agree, but on the bright side, early March is only a couple of months away. Edgar won't have to wait too long for a title fight with McGregor if that's Conor's next opponent. Edgar vs. McGregor on UFC 200 anyone?

All roads are leading to UFC 200. Baring injury, the UFC must think Edgar/McGregor is penciled in for UFC 200. I also think by Holm being on this card that the UFC doesn't think Rousey will be ready in July. I feel the UFC must have GSP's return lined up for the main event of UFC 200.

It's weird how they keep avoiding Edgar for McGregor.

Yeah, weird how they're protecting Conor from Frankie by giving him Dos Anjos, right?

Other than Werdum this is the toughest opponent Conor could get, get off his back man.

Also, it's not weird at all, this is the fight Conor wants and he's positioned himself so that what he wants, he gets. A win over Frankie gives him a great title defense over a legend, a win over RDA makes him an instant MMA god. That's what he wants, so no, not weird, no funny business going on, sucks for Frankie because I truly believe he was ahead of Mendes both for the Aldo rematch and for the crack at the interim title when Aldo pulled out. Problem is, Frankie was already a bit burnt as far as selling points go after his run at 155, so the UFC went with the guy who'd lost less title fights at the time and already had a beef with Conor.

Frankie will get his day and I think he loses to both Aldo and Conor.

It's bad for Edgard cause he deserve it, but I don't think McGregor is protected anymore if they throw him again RDA

Pretty sure you can't say Conor was protected before this considering he's got wins over Jose Aldo, Chad Mendes, Max Holloway and Dustin Poirier.

I was thinking he was protected before the Aldo fight when he got Brandao, Poirier, Siver, and Mendes only gets 2 weeks notice before the fight. Then he crashes Aldo real quick so I was thinking they will find a way to protect him by not giving him Edgard because he bring so much money but RDA is not a way to protect him.

That two-weeks notice thing cuts both ways. Conor was in a training camp, but for a striker, not a high-level wrestler.

But whatevs.

He was protected because he fought Siver to get a shot.  Not even close to being worthy of it.

I am not even going to go there about the Mendes fight as people will just get violent in their speech about my thoughts.

He did beat Aldo which was good but he knows it was a fluke.

Sometimes you call a fight the exact way it's going to go down, go out and make that prediction a reality, and people still claim it was a fluke.

It looks like speaking against Mcgregor on this forum attracts many of thumbs down. Even if you are respectful and you bring arguments to defend your opinion.

Anyone who thinks that punch against Aldo was a fluke needs to find a new hobby because he knows jack **** about striking. He read Aldo perfectly, he set him up to lunge like that by annoying him and studying him and he countered it to perfection. There's a reason he knew that was how he'd finish the fight whether it be as quick or later on in the fight. It wasn't because he's mystic or because he's lucky, it was because he knows how their styles clash. He knows what Aldo does, and he knows what he does.

Say whatever you want about him being protected or undeserving of the title shot because the minute he won the title off an all-time great he rendered all that **** completely irrelevant. Weird I never hear you whining about Dillashaw's title shot which he got after a loss to Assuncao and win over Easton (yeah, remember him?)! And with good reason, the minute he beat Barao he retroactively became deserving of the shot. But saying that shot on Aldo was just a lucky shot shows pure ignorance.

Mcgregor is the biggest star in the UFC right now, Dillashaw defend his title on FOX. That's probably why no one argues about how he get is shot. Not a lot of fans care about him and many of us think he will lose it next Saturday anyway.

If the rumors are true for 197, there would be 3 title defenses.

Notice anything odd about this picture?

More specifically, compare the pic above to this picture from the UFC 94 Promotional Press Conference.
