I don't think Alves vs Mein fight has been talked about enough. Both guys are monster, that easy fight of the night contender.

So...Apparently, Silva gets a title shot if (when) he beats Diaz. Why? For the first time in ever the MW division is chock full of serious contenders and Silva's lost twice to the man who will inevitably be holding the MW title after Weidman/Belfort. I would be much more interested in the winner of Jacare/Romero. So stupid.

Andy coming off of 2 loses, just like Nick. Would only be fair if Diaz would get a crack at Lawler if he gets by the legend that is Anderson.

I'd rather see Diaz vs Lawler 2 than Hendricks vs Lawler 3. I could be wrong but the Diaz one might also be the bigger money fight for the UFC...

If Nick beats Anderson I bet you he gets the shot ... I just think with Nick they play it as it goes ... no long term commitments ... and by long term I mean anything after the post-fight interview is unknown territory ...

Diaz and Silva were the last PPVs to come close to a million buys in the last 4-4.5 years, I'm pretty sure Nick gets the same treatment if he plays along.

If Nick beats Anderson I think his best case scenario will be fighting Rory MacDonald for the #1 contender spot. I don't think he'll get the same treatment at all as Anderson. The Diaz PPV grossed as much as it did because he was fighting GSP. The ****** up thing is that if Lawler beats Hendricks and Diaz beats Silva and they made the rematch of Nick vs Lawler it would at least be a rematch of a fight that Diaz won. Whereas if Anderson beats Nick and rematches Weidman (assuming he beats Vitor) it will be a trilogy fight where Silva was completely dominated in the first two fights. I mean, he literally had zero offense in both fights. He was dominated from the opening round until the second round where he was knocked out in the first fight, and had his leg broken in the second fight. UFC logic = **** fights that make sense, make fights that are going to sell. I understand it's a business, but they're beginning to let the money making aspect of the business completely overshadow the fact that it's also a sport and more deserving fighters are being ****** over because they can't make the company as much money. I wish every fighter would join the class action lawsuit, or ask for their release, and go to Bellator at this point. The way the UFC is conducting themselves is an absolute joke and gives the sport a nice big black eye. It's like if the Houston Astros made the World Series and the MLB said, we're gonna go ahead and give the World Series shot to the Yankees because the Astros are a small market team and the Yankees being in the Series will bring much more viewers. It's 100% bogus and an unfair slap in the face to guys like Luke Rockhold, Jacare Souza, and Yoel Romero. I don't understand why the UFC thinks the fans want to see Anderson vs Weidman again. I personally have zero interest in that match up. It's another one sided beat down waiting to happen. In regards to Conor McGregor getting a title shot if he beats Siver I have no problem with that simply because Aldo has cleaned out the entire division and McGregor will at least be a new fight for him. Has McGregor been given match ups that play into his hand? Yes, but he's won all those match ups impressively. He's still not as deserving as Frankie Edgar, or Cub Swanson prior to the Edgar fight, but I don't mind that as much as the Silva ****.

I don't think we're gonna see any quick Nick Diaz turnarounds. My guess is he's going to pick and choose his fights and do only one or two a year tops. If it leads him to a title fight, so be it, but I doubt it's an immediate goal of his at this stage. Everything in his interviews this past year or so have shown that as of now, he's in it solely for the money and he get enough for each fight to be a bit less frequent with it.

I think Diaz may be in a bit of a catch 22 situation here, if he loses the fight people will say "well duh, he sucks" or something like that, but if he wins people will say "Anderson is washed up".
