@Franklin ok maybe not Melendez but the others would, and there are a ton of other fighters with better "pure" boxing in MMA. Whatever pure is supposed to mean.

No particular order, but fighter I think her better boxers than Pearson, not overall strikers just boxers. Brad Pickett, Hugo Viana, Pat Curran, Shahbulat Shamhalaev, Doo Ho Choi, Conor Mcgregor, Tim Means, Jorge Masvidal, Nick Diaz, Jake Ellenberger, Siyar Bahadurzada, Jordan Mein, Anderson Silva, Michael Bisping, Vitor Belfort, Hector Lombard, Costa Philippou, Alessio Sakara, Alexander Gustafsson, Gegard Mousasi, Glover Teixeira, Fabio Maldanado, Antonio Rogerio Nogueria, Junior Dos Santos, Mark Hunt, Sergei Kharitnov, Andrei Arlovski, Raphael Butler


I think Pearson is a better striker than a pure boxer. He is better with his combinations of kicks and knees.

I agree though pearson does have good boxing, I believe there are plenty of guys with better.

I think Ryan will be on the receiving end of a beatdown here. I think Ross finishes in the second or third.

When I say pure boxing, I mean in terms of a boxing match, in a boxing ring, with boxing rules, against other professional boxers. The better one's pure boxing is, the more success they would have at this level. Technique is most important, versatility is great, boxing-style defense (shoulder rolls and such), etc.

Ross Pearson's boxing is mixed up with kicks and such, you're right. Doesn't take away from the fact that he has ridiculously underrated striking. Excellent head movement, quick with combinations, solid counters, good at adjusting, etc.

I think his boxing is SEVERLY underrated.

@sreimuth Alright, in my opinion Ross Pearson is leagues better than most of those names. I mean, I just took a quick glance and I saw names like Mark Hunt, Jake Ellenberger, Michael Bisping (***...), Hector Lombard (***...) and Vitor Belfort (WHAT THE ****) and I'm just gonna ignore the rest of that post...

Good fight...but Pearson should be able to strike his way to victory by TKO or Dec.
