UFC 84 Wiki Update Wiki

While the main event rematch between Georges St-Pierre and Matt Serra at UFC 83 was chock full of bad blood, the lightweight title showdown at UFC 84 between BJ Penn and Sean Sherk was even worse. Since being stripped of his Lightweight Championship, Sherk had publicly denied his use of performance enhancing drugs, something Penn actively and openly questioned leading up to the fight. In the main event, Penn dominated Sherk with crisp boxing before getting the TKO victory at the end of the third round.

In other action, undefeated Karate practitioner Lyoto Machida earned the biggest win to that point in his career by dominating Tito Ortiz over three rounds, while Wanderlei Silva returned to form by knocking out Keith Jardine in the first.
