@AnAlias Frankie Edgar.  He KOed Mendes in Round 1.  Aldo got KOed in 13 seconds and had the chance to take the rematch to save UFC 196 and declined.  Edgar deserves the next shot.

Watching Conor tap I could not help but to think about Faber talking about how Conor likes to tap and when given the opportunity Conor will always tap.

HMMMMM

99.9% of fighters tap when they're in a full on guillotine that's being applied by a bjj practitioner as skilled as Nate is. I don't think many fighters "like" to tap; other than Bob Sapp and fighters like that. That said, as good as Nate is on the ground Conor obviously needs work there. Mendes showed the hole in McGregor's takedown defense (granted Mendes is arguably one of the best wrestlers in MMA) and Diaz further exposed that hole tonight by slicing through his guard into mount effortlessly (Conor was hurt at that point in his defense, but still..) and securing a guillotine pretty easily. If McGregor plans on holding onto his belt and continuing to compete with elite grapplers he better start putting some serious serious time into training to stuff takedowns, transitions from the bottom, submission defense, and possibly some sort of active guard or ideally submission attempts from his back. Anyway, that was a big rant that derailed from the original subject quickly. My point is: 209. Stockton. ************. What?

Tough spot for Conor now: He can fight Edgar at FW and take a huge chance in getting beat two in a row or can try for RDA and take another huge chance.  Either way, the pressure will be on.

I would think the RDA fight is off the table for right now. He'd probably have to vacate the FW belt and fight someone at 155 first before getting a shot at the title there.

@unbeknownst  Agreed.  Diaz has derailed any potential super fights that the UFC had planned for Conor.  He needs to now defend his strap, which is what he should have done in the first place.

Hornet and Unbeknowst, one would think that but don't forget the ufc was acting like Conor deserved a shot at Lawler before the Diaz fight was even over. Who knows what will happen. Conor's stock did drop some after this.

I'm a huge McGregor fan, but Nate Diaz was damn impressive last night. Nothing flukish going on there. The bigger man weathered the storm from the smaller, faster striker and basically veteraned him out of there.

Love seeing Conor's attitude after losing.

I was a massive GSP fan and the 2007 loss to Matt Serra was devastating for me. I never got that emotionally attached to another fighter haha.

GSP came back and never lost again; we'll see how McGregor responds to this big stage defeat. Will say a lot.
