Nice to see Horiguchi getting some main card love. He should get a title shot with a win here.

Rest of the card is pretty solid. Nothing spectacular, but topped by one of the best fights of all time (on paper.)

The main card is honestly a little weak but I'd expect the UFC to try and coast off such a huge main event.

Happy to see Horiguchi get a showcase fight but I strongly disagree with a win here he should get a title shot. 1. He's young and still improving a lot. 2. He is not ready for Mighty Mouse. 3. You need to beat a contender to become one....Benavidez, Bagautinov, McCall, Dodson you should have to knock one of those guys off to get a shot at 125.

Pretty weak card, as expected. I will say this though beside the main event there are a bunch of guys I like to watch, Horiguchi, Lombard and Cerrone are great fun to watch.

@Nomad I agree and hope Horiguchi has some more time to improve, love that little dude though. But there is no way we can hold him to that standard. Of those four guys you posted only Joe B beat anyone else. But to your point he should absolutely have to beat at least someone in the top ten before getting a title shot.

I'm really interested to see how Jury does against Cerrone. Its a big jump up in competition for him.

Jury

Predictions: 1 of 3 Winners, 0 Perfect, 50 Points   |   Tied for 1669th

I think Cerone will be too much for Jury, not just from an experience standpoint (professionally) but the way Cerone is fighting the past year or so.  The Cowboy is in a great place physically, mentally and has his team locked in on building the best Cerone we have ever seen.

I think it will go the distance and end in a close decision. Jury has really improved and will give Cowboy a great fight and maybe even steal a close sd. Gonna be a great fight either way.

RDA showed that  Cerrone still has issues with elite grapplers that he can't submit off his back. I think this is a great opportunity for Jury to prove himself.

You can beat Cerrone if you have great top control and awesome BJJ defense but I don't see this fight ever taking place on the ground unless Cowboy jumps on a sub after a knockdown. Jury will try and stand and bang with Cowboy and afterwards he's gonna be 15-and Donald Cerrone.

Cerrone has lost in some other ways but if the Alvarez fight is any indication I believe he's starting to tighten up his game. Don't know if Jury can find any holes unless he's capable of doing well with body shots because Cerrone's chin is made of iron.

Cerrone's "on and off" are when he loses to the cream of the crop. Still ******* amazing though.. Kinda puts him in Urijah Faber territory. I mean, looking at his record, his worst loss was to Nate Diaz when Nate was at the top of his game.

Alvarez fight don't mean ****. I picked Alvarez to win but in retrospect it was a bad call. Alvarez has always been susceptible to leg kicks and Donald Cerrone has the power to really **** with someone's legs if he wants to (lol Nate Diaz).

Jury's best chance of winning this fight becomes to make it a dirty, grueling, fight on the mat, and against the fence. I think that's pretty obvious. While his stand up seems to have improved by leaps and bounds I'm not quite sure that knocking out Gomi at this point in Gomi's career is quite as big a feather in Jury's cap as a lot are seeing it as. Gomi has never been the most technical striker, and leaves himself wide open at times when he's throwing those fastballs. If this fight stays on the feet and at range Cerrone will pick Jury apart with stepping knees, leg kicks, and superior striking. I have Jury DEC right now because I think he's capable of shutting down Cerrone's game by getting inside on him and out positioning him and controlling the pace and location of the fight. If he loses control of any of those things, position, pace, or control he's more than likely going to get overwhelmed with knees, and kicks and finished by Cowboy.

I don't think the main card is weak. The main event, Lombard, Cerrone, Jury and Marquardt are some of the most exciting fighters out there.
