I think it's gonna be hard to pick against Jones in the rematch. I think the first fight was Gustafsson's chance to get him. Now he knows what he's up against, and he's clearly the more versatile fighter with more methods of attack. Still, Gus is young as well, so I'm excited to see how they prepare for one another in training.

I don't know I kinda feel the opposite. I think Gus being less versatile in attack just means he can add more tools to his game. I think Gus has a significant boxing edge and if he adds more versatile tools like elbows, more diverse kicks, I think we could see more improved Gus. Especially considering that jones admitted to having work a lot on his boxing and I still felt it was pretty inferior to Gus own boxing. Makes me think Jones is not going to improve his boxing much by the next fight. So i wondering where jones will improve in order to win more decisively. I just think Gus has more tools he can add to his tool box to change the dynamics more in the second fight. Also wonder if Gus will try and put on some mass. Jones is deff the stronger more muscular fighter in terms of upper body at least.

Good points, but I think it's hard to add new tools to your game in one training camp so they'll come out naturally when you need them to in the fight. Jones has been throwin the bows since he got into the UFC.

I agree with Franklin, I think Gustafsson has more room to grow than Jones, Gus can train for a more versatile striking mixing more kicks with his boxing and working on his clinch game, he can improve his takedowns learn to mix them more with his striking, and work on the timing,  the first attempt worked because he mixed his TD with his striking and caught Jones off guard, but the others he just went for the TD, and that´s just not gonna work against Jones, I know he should avoid clkinching with Jones during the fight but he stil needs to be prepared for it. Jones on the other hand I think he could bring a tal guy with a long reach to emulate Gus, it looked to me that once Jones got hit by Gus in the 1st round, he had trouble closing the distance or getting in and out fast, if he cimproves that he could make things more difficult, other than that I don´t think Jones can do things much more differently. I think Gus has his defense worked out pretty good, but he still has room to improve his offense.

What's easier to improve, technique or strength/conditioning? If improving technique takes less time, I'd say Jones will be more improved. If improving strength/conditioning takes less time, Gus will be more improved.

Gus needs to make sure he doesn't get rocked early in the rematch. He got rocked at the end of the fourth and didn't look like he wanted much to do with the fight anymore from then through the final frame.

Eh.Yeah, he was hurt, but he looked sluggish in the 4th round even though he was still beating up Jones in the first 4 minutes. He wasn't moving and cutting angles as well in the 4th as he had been throughout the first 3 frames. I dunno if he was messed up from the elbow in the 5th or if he was just tired.

^Agreed, aside from the big spinning back elbow + knee combo I gave Gus the round even though he looked dead ass tired. First time he'd gone to championship rounds. Hopefully if they do it again he'll have a little more left in the tank if it reaches the 4th-5th.

Watched the fight again. I think still Gus got robbed. It was exciting and everything, but Gustuffson was on top of his game and should of won.

Looks like we get Bones/Glover on Super Bowl Sunday weekend. So no rematch just yet, but we get the thrilling and much needed BJ/Edgar III!!!!
