O'Malley DEC
Was feeling Chito at first and still wouldn't be shocked if he wins but going with the speed and accuracy of Suga. Chito's durability is next level, thinking it goes the distance with Sean landing more damaging shots.

BSD KO RD1
A Poirier win here would shock me and that totally sucks to write. Dustin is one of my all time favorites and I think he still has gas left to perform at a high level but really don't see how he wins here. BSD catches him early.

Burns Sub RD3
Is there a world where JDM gets the KO? Absolutely. But I'm going with Burns here. If he can land take downs think he finds a late sub.

Vergara needs the performance of a lifetime and a huge upset just to keep his job here. Can't miss weight every other fight and expect to stick around.

Chito did not look good on the scale and had to use the box right away to make weight. He looked a bit soft.

Predictions: 10 of 14 Winners, 4 Perfect, 615 Points   |   Tied for 2835th

O'Malley vs. Vera II
Sean O'Malley, TKO, R3
O Malley frustrates Vera from the outside, Vera does alot of rushing exchanges to throw off the stability of OMalley. O Malley has since learned how to handle pressure like this and clips him with a clean left straight TKO to ground and pound.

Poirier vs. Saint-Denis
Benoit Saint-Denis, TKO, R4
BSD lands a beautiful counter on the cage while dodging Poirer’s bombs. BSD puts him down to a knee and then lands and uppercut and the ref stefs in. Tko finish.

Holland vs. Page
Kevin Holland, DEC
29-28x3 Holland pieces him up towards the end.

Burns vs. Maddalena
Jack Della Maddalena, DEC
29-28x2 30-27 Unanimous decision. Tough fight but JDM pace and contact is what separates him in this one.

Yan vs. Song
Yadong Song, TKO, R2
Song dominates a prodding, telgegraphing Yan, and ends this when Yan starts to feel urgency. Knee to Hooks TKO

Blaydes vs. Almeida
Curtis Blaydes, TKO, R1
Bombs from above. Blaydes wastes zero time getting this one down. He avoids transitions but lands huge shots in the gaps, they start really landing and Almeida’s head starts to bounce a bit and the Ref starts to see signs. Almeida starts to go unconscious and the ref steps in.

Cerminara vs. Barber
Maycee Barber, DEC
29-28x3. Maycee looks fantastic in round 1, it starts to even out in 2 and then she fades hard. But some judges decide she does enough. 29-28x2 29-28 Split Dec.

Gamrot vs. dos Anjos
Mateusz Gamrot, DEC
30-27x3 Uni for Gamrot. Who lands in trouble early and bounces back fully to arguably dominate.

Munhoz vs. Phillips
Kyler Phillips, DEC
30-27, 29-28, 28-29. A wonky split but worthwhile, Kyler does all the control but almost all the damage comes from Pedro leading to some controversy. Split decision.

Lins vs. Cutelaba
Philipe Lins, TKO, R1
Ion way too vicious for his own good and walks right into a 3-Piece combo of a body shot, head, head. His night ends early due to lack of defense.

Pereira vs. Oleksiejczuk
Michel Pereira, DEC
29-28x2, 30-27 Uni. The style differences are quite unique. I think Pereira stays hyper active and that energy resonates for the judges who are distracted away from seeing the slow and methodical approach of MO.

Despaigne vs. Parisian
Josh Parisian, SUB, R2
Either getting KOd cold or Parisian does the smart gameplan and gets this rook down to the ground and submits him via arm triangle.

Vergara vs. Almabaev
Asu Almabaev, TKO, R1
Vergara gets his back taken middle of round 1 and has to fight from that position to the end. Asu lands huge shots trying to open up an RNC but he notices the shots are landing and the referee is getting closer. Asu decides to switch and land countless indefensible shots and the ref sees enough. TKO finish. Asu is legit.

Wood vs. Moroz
Joanne Wood, DEC
Split dec. 29-28x2 28-29.

Cheetos and Sean had trouble making weight very odd they claimed it was the scale for Sean but he was freaking out clear not an easy weight cut for either.

What problem for Sean did you see? I saw him weigh in right away second guy or whatever it was. The guy operating the scale didn't know what weight he was at, he was trying a bunch of different weights then turned around and looked like he asked what weight it was supposed to be at. DC commented on it on the official weigh in show.

O'Malley vs. Vera II
Marlon Vera
I might be wrong but I’m honestly rooting for chito . Plus if he beats o malley it opens up for more potential bangers instead of o malley choosing his fights

Poirier vs. Saint-Denis
Benoit Saint-Denis, TKO
BSD is a BAD man . Too much for diamond

Holland vs. Page
Michael Page, TKO
this will be FOTN for as long as it last till MVP puts his lights out

Burns vs. Maddalena
Jack Della Maddalena, TKO
This is the epitome of “ out with the old & in with the new “

Yan vs. Song
Petr Yan, TKO
Could see Yan taking him to a decision but as durable as Song is , he’s not ready for this level of fighter . I could see him crumbling in the 3rd

Blaydes vs. Almeida
Jailton Almeida, SUB
Light work for Jailton … remember I said this

Cerminara vs. Barber
Maycee Barber, TKO
LMAOOO

Gamrot vs. dos Anjos
Mateusz Gamrot, DEC
This one is self explanatory

Munhoz vs. Phillips
Pedro Munhoz
Bet that’s never been finished and fought the who’s who of the division vs upcoming fighter with a good body of work who’s technical and fast . Hard one to pick but I came to the realization that Munhoz is going to be a tad bit too much for Phillips the experience is going to show in this fight

Better card can have more decision just because it’s well match fights, it way easier to finish a jobber then someone who is on your level. A lot of these PPV bouts ends in decision for this reason

Btw, I’m picking mostly decision too

Holland was dropped bad with a headbutt and choke out by Kyle Daukaus, It’s ended by no contest because headbutts are illegal, but fair credit to Holland, only time he got badly hurt and it was illegal

Could MVP land something harder  then a Kyle Daukaus headbutt???, It very unlikely because it MMA, but who know it’s MMA

Agreed that's a big factor but I would also say that beyond that a lot of these fighters lean more toward winning on the scorecard than on finishes. Take a guy like Michel Pereira, perfect example I would say because the guy looks like he would definitely back a huge punch but he prefers to circle and counterstrike on the outside and not take too much risks despite how wild he acts at times. Then of course you have control wrestlers like Gamrot etc.

I expect there to be some surprising finishes just because it's MMA but it feels like there's a high probability of fight goes long in a lot of these bouts.

Still hoping Holland/Page isn’t too dissimilar from the fight Holland had against Wonderboy in December 2022
That was one of my favorite main events of the last couple of years.
