It's weird that Blaydes doesn't wrestle anymore when that was his best pedigree, I guess when he was booed after the Volkov win really played on his mental

Predictions: 8 of 14 Winners, 5 Perfect, 565 Points   |   Tied for 4018th

O'Malley vs. Vera II
Sean O'Malley, DEC
OMalley will use his drastically superior footwork and pick Chito apart. I don't really have concerns about OMalley in the championship rounds because Chito is such a slow starter. Chito needs a finish if he wants the belt. The judges aren't taking the belt off the golden goose.

Poirier vs. Saint-Denis
Benoit Saint-Denis, SUB, R3
Making this pick feels almost sacrilegious but I can't back Poirier with some of the stuff that's been coming out of his mouth leading up to this fight. He seems ready to call it and I think BSD is just way too dangerous and durable. I hope Dustin doesn't retire if he loses here but I do think he's done contending at 155. This is another changing of the guard fight for me. I think BSD is probably going to have to walk through some fire but if he can get this fight to the ground at some point I think he's going to find a finish somehow. Poirier is definitely the better striker but I'm genuinely questioning whether he can put BSD early enough to pull this off. BSD durability and resolve is just next level but if there's one contender in the rankings that can truly test his toughness, it's the Diamond. For my money, this is the real main event.

Holland vs. Page
Kevin Holland, DEC
Kevin Holland is just a good as striker and better anywhere else this fight goes. MVP can win a boring point fight here but that's it. I think both guys have proven they're super durable throughout their careers so while a finish is possible, I think this one has a good chance of hitting the scorecards. I think this fight and the main event could be very similar. Not a ton of action and everyone will be holding their breath a lot waiting for something explosive to happen.

Burns vs. Maddalena
Jack Della Maddalena, TKO, R2
Change of the guard fight for me. I think Gilberts path to victory is pretty much keeping JDM off his feet for the majority of this fight, which is certainly possible. On the feet, I think Gilbert is in massive trouble and is probably going to get knocked out.

Then what scares me about Almeida is we've yet to see him really strike in the UFC, I wonder what things will look like if/when Blaydes stuffs his takedowns

O'Malley vs. Vera II
Marlon Vera, TKO, R4
A man can dream. But unironically I think Vera will be able to shut him down if he has a good gameplan. He's way too static with his head so he might just lose a decision since he's too durable to get KOed

Poirier vs. Saint-Denis
Dustin Poirier, DEC
I was picking BSD up until today but something tells me Dustin

Holland vs. Page
Michael Page, TKO, R1
Emoting over his grave. If MVP wins then welterweight gets to move along

Burns vs. Maddalena
Gilbert Burns, DEC
Never seen JDM fight so I'm probably overlooking him. I'll just pick the vet since it seems to be the year of the vet.

Yan vs. Song
Petr Yan, TKO, R2
Song Yadong sounds like a lesbian

Curtis Blaydes, DEC
Whoever is picking Almedia by KO is literally ********

Despaigne vs. Parisian

Vergara vs. Almabaev
Asu Almabaev, TKO, R1
We're going with the wild KO

Wood vs. Moroz II
Maryna Moroz, DEC
Hmmmmm Aged 38 vs Aged 32... I wonder who wins...

Ok look, I never ask you people for anything, I try to be nice and entertaining while I'm here. But why the fug am I picking Jack Della Maddalena over the savage animal of a fighter that is Gilbert Burns. Is age all we got here? I'm gonna switch my pick to Gilly B by Sub Round 2.

Please tell me why that isn't the most likely outcome.

@DaWarBoss

I also have Gilbert but if JDM can keep this fight standing for the majority of the rounds he will pick Burns apart. His boxing is elite and although Burns has power and has had success striking in past fights this is a different caliber of sniper. Burns is also 37 and his durability will only get worse. I ended up taking Burns because I do believe he is more complete and will find enough takedowns but if JDM’s work with Craig Jones pays off and he can either stuff takedowns or survive on the ground he has a good chance of taking this one. Gilbert also tends to just control from top a lot instead of attacking submissions and that will give JDM the opportunity to work to his feet or survive until the next round where they’ll start standing at his advantage.

@DaWarBoss
Burns is allergic to straight punches and tends to crumble very quickly against boxers with solid combinations. JDM is supreme at mixing up body-head combos and pressuring. He won't jump a guillotine on Burns regardless of what the Hafez fight would tell you. He's going to pressure Burns and break him with 1-2s. I'm about 85% sure.

O'Malley vs. Vera II
Sean O'Malley, DEC. Honestly take a coin and flip it, im leaning at Sean but not confidently, i think vera will make it look tougher than we want to realise. Very close fight, personally i would fade this fight but if i had to pick the winner, sean by decision by a hair strand.

Poirier vs. Saint-Denis
BSD, Sub or KO. Listen, i love DP hes one of my favourite fighters and i think hes a BMF, Gaeche catching him with a kick should not take any credit from DP and what he has achieved. Stylisticly BSD just looks way better, DP has no answer for his td/ground game threat, i'm hoping this is a war, but i just can't see it. I think BSD plays this on the ground.

Holland vs. Page
Kevin Holland, DEC. Not sure the hype behind MVP he is mediocre at best, holland should outclass him this fight.

Burns vs. Maddalena
Burns, submission. This has left a sour taste in my mouth, burns is a heavy underdog, excuse me? this guy has faced THE best of the BEST and made it a war every single time, obviously Belal being the only exception but everyone has their off days, he didn't look like himself there and fought with injury, and he's a hard fade because of that?, he is super well rounded and good exactly everywhere, he had a superb fight against khamzat that most in this division would get toyed around with - GB is not done and is not leaving anytime soon, he will make a statement this fight. We have one trick pony, some might even say dark hose JDM as a heavy favourite here? No thanks, hard fade. Whilst i understand JDM can catch Burnes, i still believe in his ability to weathering what JDM throws on the feet.

Yan vs. Song
Petr Yan,  ko/points - Really mindblown with the odds leaning towards a 50/50 here, unbelieveable almost. Song is good, but yan is just way better everywhere. He looked fantastic aganst sean and in my books got robbed. Hes on 4 losses his past 5 fights, yes sure but that's vs prime ALJO and prime Mehrab, reality is no one is beating either at their prime, not really counting omaley because that's not a convincing win for him against yan. Either way Levels and yan should take htis one home relatively easy.

Blaydes vs. Almeida
Almeida, decision. 70/30 fight imo, hypetrain looked terrible against Lewis but that doesn't change the fact that his weight management and control time is ELITE, way better than Blaydes, whenever hes on top he makes fighters look like fishes outside of water. If Almeida can force takedowns and play this on the ground he should take this one with ease, but we've yet to see his striking, eitherway him coming heavier could potentially favour him here, its a 3 round fight and i see blaydes struggling unless he finds a miracle KO

Cerminara vs. Barber
Katlyn Cerminara, DEC. Once again, very wierd lines on this shouldn't be that wide, favouring Katlyn in this matchup and should take a fairly easy decision win, obviously WMMA so take it with a grain of salt but odds here doesnt make sense to me.

Gamrot vs. dos Anjos
Gamrot, submission or points - Not sure the reason behind setting this fight up, prime rda might have a slight chance but gamrot will take this one with ease no doubt in my mind.

Munhoz vs. Phillips
Munhoz, decision. Unbelieve the lines on this. Munhoz has faced much tougher opponents - Kyle is good but this is a 50 50 fight at best.

Pereira vs. Oleksiejczuk
Pereira, Decision - more decorated and well rounded fighter. Oleks went without a proper camp heading into this fight, whilst he did a superb job against his last fight against Chidi, this one is a hard fade, styles make fights and Pereira is a nightmare for Oleks stylisticly

Vergara vs. Almabaev
Almabaev, Sub or points - Vergara is not a serious fighter and Uncle dana wants him out, giving Almabaev what we call a "freebie" this is the last we'll see from vergara

Wood vs. Moroz II
Joanne Wood, DEC
Wood - Levels, she will make it look easy too.
