Almeida being the dog when BSD is the favorite is incredibly interesting to me. How is Poirier the dog when he has never lost two in a row in his career and the fact that he is Poirier. Blaydes got ran through worse than Poirier in his last fight while Almeida looks like no one can beat him except for Aspinall and Jones. I don't think we've ever seen Blaydes on the bottom. Sometimes these D2 wrestlers don't know what to do when they are on the bottom. Blaydes hasn't exactly been much of a submission threat either

I also don't get really get Burns being the dog, but I guess it makes more sense to me than the Poirier and Blaydes odds

@DevinM34
I’m riding with Pedro & Katlyn to spoil young guns showcase.  I’m worried though that Phillip’s stays clear of Pedro’s T-Rex reach & fights to a smart decision victory but realistically Pedro’s heavy pressure probably breaks Kyler in the 3rd for a Munhoz split decision. I’ve been burnt by Katlyn’s style vs various previous foes as she always makes others fight her fight. Ugly decision win for Katlyn.

It's important to consider who will be judging Chookagian's fight. Judges that believe that martial artists can injure their opponents with kiai shouting techniques tend to favor her more than others.

Pereira vs. Oleksiejczuk
Michel Pereira, DEC
Pereira came into the UFC as this flashy finisher and had a reality check. Can’t do all that crazy stuff and gas yourself out in the big leagues. I think he’s matured a lot since then. His opponent Michal is a boxer with very powerful hands. That’s about it. He’s not good at dealing with leg kicks and is a fish out of water on the ground. I think Pereira will be able to use leg kicks to weaken the base of Michal. If Pereira manages to get the fight to the ground, he can hold Michal there, and does have submission attacks. I think we are past the gas tank issues with Pereira. He’s huge for 185lbs, never mind 170lbs. Going with the Brazilian as he has a lot more ways to win.

Just rewatched Hussar vs. Chidi. Honestly didn't remember him eating such a flush head kick before finding the finish. He was on skates for a second. Honestly kind of wild how bad Chidi is at finishing guys that he has hurt.

Don't see Perreira struggling here and am surprised the odds are so close as they are.

Not sure I understand it either. Blaydes has terrible fight IQ. I've already seen Almeida rag doll multiple guys who are +260lbs no problem. Blaydes isn't some amazing striker who's going to finally land a bomb on the hardest guy to hit in the UFC. Even if he can successfully take Almeida down and try to control him, Almeida has much better jiu jitsu. So unless Blaydes can rain down his excellent ground and pound fairly early, I don't see how he wins this fight.

I think Almeida having 2 better performances against common opponents tells the story for me. Almeida ran through Bigi Boy no problem and didn't get slept by Lewis.

If you ask me, this should probably be a 5 round co main on 301.

O'Malley vs. Vera II
Sean O'Malley, DEC
Rooting for Chito but O'Malley is simply so much better technically on the feet. Late resurgence for Vera won't overturn the scorecards (which undoubtedly will favour Sean regardless).

Poirier vs. Saint-Denis
Benoit Saint-Denis, SUB, R2
A violent changing of the guard will ensue. At least Poirier will still have his hot sauce.

Holland vs. Page
Michael Page, DEC
Holland is fundamentally unserious. He won't use his ground-game edge and MVP will outstrike him over the 15 minutes..

Burns vs. Maddalena
Gilbert Burns, DEC
Vibes-based pick. Hopefully Durinho doesn't engage in any prolonged striking exchanges, because Jack can chin him at any time...

Blaydes vs. Almeida
Jailton Almeida, SUB, R2
Almeida will hold Blaydes on the ground, and - this time - find a submission. Mortal Kombat walkout will go hard as per, but this will be sad day for the Blaydes Brigade :(

Cerminara vs. Barber
Maycee Barber, DEC
Split 29-28 decision. Barber slightly outworks and outdamages Cerimanara.

Gamrot vs. dos Anjos
Mateusz Gamrot, DEC
The MMA gods are with Gamrotaliban. RDA will be viciously decisioned, or suffer a miraculous fight-ending injury.

Burns' injury def plays a part in the odds + chin concerns considering JDM's boxing. honestly Burns' wrestling itself isn't that great, as long as JDM doesn't pull stupid guillotines and actually defends the takedowns I think he should be able to dictate where this fight takes place. and if he can do that, I feel like it'll only be a matter of time until he gets a finish

I'm really interested to see how BSD's striking looks against another southpaw in Poirier. So much of BSD's striking game is based off the open stance kick and leading with his left hand. The left kick is not gonna be nearly as effective and leading with his left straight/overhand is gonna be risky against Poirier.
