The fighters are weighed in and we're set for tomorrow night. Lentz was forced out before weigh-ins due to illness, dropping the card to 10 bouts, so unless Daniel Kelly refuses to fight Pat Walsh (missed weight by 5.5 lbs), that's where we'll stay.

Prelims kick off on FS1 at 8pm ET followed by the main card in the same spot at 10pm.

I think Benson will lose this fight and lose in a big way (tko) to Thatch. He's giving up too much size, and strength in thiis fight and could really end up paying a huge price for this. The only reason I can think of for taking this fight on short notice is he's doing the UFC a huge favor by saving this card and this always pays off later down the road, but a loss is a loss.

I worry that a third loss in a row will be the only reason needed for Dana & co. to cut Henderson. Would be super disappointing if they did.

I'm actually confident in Benson. I hate him, but his experience should win him this fight.

I can't see any way they cut Benson.  Letting a guy like that go when he holds multiple wins over Frankie Edgar, multiple wins over Donald Cerrone, wins over Diaz, Melendez, The Punk, Guida, Khabilov, Jim Miller, Varner, etc. just way too many guys that he working for any other promotion he'd be advertised at the guy who beat (insert whoever the hottest 1-3 performing guys he has beaten in the UFC are at the time, especially[!] if one of them were to become champ).  No way the UFC would let a guy with wins over multiple potential UFC titleholders even within the next year go just based on how they'd be promoted by the rival organization.  Not to mention the whole 170 thing and saving the main event.  I do think he's hurting his leverage in contract talks, whenever those may be coming up.

First there is no way that they would cut Benson if he loses. He would have to lose about 5 in a row for the UFC to tell him to retire. UFC can't afford for someone with that big of a name to fall into the hands of Bellator or WSOF, so it would be better for the UFC that no one has him then a competing company.

The size difference is so eye popping that it can't be ignored. Just damn Thatch looks sooooo much bigger and on fight night he will be over 185 as Henderson will be around 175ish.

I'm going Thatch, this fight is amazing because there are so many unanswered questions when guys changed weight classes. This card was just destroyed with injuries and now it looks to actually be a fun card.

Lets do this ****!

Micah Miller‏@Mavymcmavmav

25% fine of purse if you celebrate on the cage in CO.

Wow, Nobody better do the traditionally about once an event celebration where they jump up on the cage top and straddle it while high-fiving coaches and appealing to the crowd.  That'd be one expensive seat.

EDIT: And missing weight by 6 pounds like Walsh did is 20%.  Kind of unbelievable.

Zero chance they cut Ben Henderson.  He's an asset. He's been in the main event of UFC on FOX three times.

Damn,Brian Stann is commentating =/ .I like him as a fighter and person but I honestly don't think he's a very good commentator at all.He get's almost everything wrong from names,to weight classes,he really knows nothing about most of the fighters and it shows. It's your job!Take a day to study the guys that are competing at the event you are commentating and then you aren't getting all your knowledge of a piece of paper. The other thing that bothers me is he often thinks one guy is winning when he's clearly losing.

When he went on a rant about one guy losing a point (while winning the first two rounds easily even brian said so) all he would talk about is how he needs a finish or the best he can get is a draw...how does he not know how this stuff works!?He has no business on the mic whatsoever, but that's just my opinion. He doesn't actually genuinely bother me,like for instance a Gus Johnson, but I would much prefer someone that is more knowledgable of the fighters and someone that doesn't have the judging skills of Cecil Peoples.I'm not really sure where he get's his info from either,he's always saying it's this guys first time in the ufc when it's not,it's this guys first time at this weight class when it's not,I mean just all night **** ups lol and no one says anything.

I think it's still better than Rogan who tends to fixate on the most basic and shallow descriptions of a fight, starts going crazy if a fighter isn't doing what he thinks is the only way to win the fight (usually some stupid "he should wrestle more" kind of ****) and then proceeds to crucify a fighter for what he decides is bad ref stoppage instead of letting him have his moment ... at least Stann knows what it's actually like to be in there and gives the dude that's in there his moment to shine.

@Nomad I started out by saying I like him as a fighter and a person and I stated my opinion of him as a commentator, don't get all righteous.

Yoss bro I disagree. Rogans job is to provide commentary so the casual mma fan can understand. I think he does a fantastic job at that.

@michigan, I totally agree with you on that, I was merely stating my preference, not "who's better" or if he's good at his job.

And to further prove your point, I used to love Rogan's commentary and the more I start to actually understand the sport the less tolerance I have for it ... up till a few months ago I could still ignore him (even though I didn't like listening to him any more, I stayed indifferent and actually like his nostalgic presence in my UFC viewing), these days I'm just happy I watch the main card muted because my wife and son are asleep because he and Goldie are a VERY annoying team for me :)

There's no way Bendo gets cut with a loss tonight. He took on a late replacement Cerrone in his last fight and he probably should have won the Decision. Now he's the one stepping up on short notice and moving up in weight to pretty much have a card. Without Bendo there would only be 9 fights and it would have Holloway vs Miller Headlining.

Besides all of that, the UFC is not in a position to be giving stars to Bellator right now. Bendo would tear it up over there.
