C_Arnoud....Of course you can defened the takedown by grabbing the shorts. He was using the shorts to keep Sonnen's hips away from his. He was also holding Sonnen's shorts when he landed the first shot that rocked him. Sonnen's spinning back fist came after that.

btw for everyone saying that anderson rubbed the vaseline on his body, first of all I think he'd need more vaseline than that to stop a Chael Sonnen TD (we're talking GSP grease) and second, didn't Yves Lavigne wipe off the vaseline? lol?

Anderson Silva won. He's the greatest fighter of all-time. Chael was a worthy rival but sadly, that's all he'll ever be.

the thing you gotta see is that cheaters dont cheat just once.

Yea, hopefully Joe Rogan's watching it too so he can see how full of **** he is. Tibau is no doubt the better fighter but he did absolutely nothing in that fight. Nurm gets an award for the worst striking % landed but at least you could tell he wanted it.

The vaseline thing isn't that major..

As for the grabbing of the shorts...well if you can argue that Anderson grabbing Chael's shorts spontaneously forced him to try that god awful spinning backfist then I'm with you! Otherwise... Not so much

Everyone should just stop *****ing and give it up to both guys.. They made the biggest fight in UFC history in an overwhelmingly stale division!

Also both guys were nothing but class after the fight.. Good stuff overall!

Lastly I'd hate to be Chael right now... I mean,where the hell does he go from here?

Anderson Silva guys. I'm still amazed at that knee he threw. I was SURE it was to the head, I can't believe how ACCURATE that knee was.

If Chael Sonnen starts talking about how Anderson only won because he grabbed the shorts, I'm gonna shoot him.
