Maia won't sub Dong-Hyun Kim, count on that. That's my lock of the night...unless Maia decides to grow a brain.

Still an awesome card:

Silva/Sonnen II
Griffin/Ortiz III
Le/Cote

But I can't help thinking of what could have been:

Silva/Sonnen II
Cruz/Faber III or Faber/Barao
Bisping/Boetsch
Franklin/Le
Griffin/Ortiz III

To be honest the odds of a fighter winning after their title shot defeats is very slim.

I haven't seen the stats but on the top of my head i think of

Okami (Boetsch), BJ (Edgar and Diaz), Hominick (Jung and Yargin) to name a few but yeah i am going to ride the trend of it

He's so great to watch, I will never understand how people aren't entertained by Cruz fights. Cruz does so much **** every fight, I just love everything he does. The way he throws combos, it literally looks like he's just throwing them. Like he'll swing hooks from left to right a la Wanderlei and then all of a sudden his leg just flies up and kicks the guy in the head. The way he dodges punches is so sick too, he's like ******* Neo. And his takedowns are so sick, that knee-tap he does just looks so sick.

Dominick Cruz is awesome.

I'm a big Cruz fan as well, but he certainly has a lot of haters and even more luke warmers.

I don't understand why though, I mean these are just clips from his fight vs Scott Jorgensen (a fight that showcased Cruz's skills to its fullest):

Look, he throws everything with ill-intent, and who throws hooks like that with their chin up and then just head kicks the dude?

Look at how he dodges every punch, like a white Anderson Silva. And name me another fighter who throws running leg kicks, like how awesome is THAT?

He feints so well, just look at that flying knee he's about to throw. It just looks so fluid.

Look at that SICK takedown, who could've predicted that? The speed in which he shoots and how he mixes it with his striking is just...amazing to look at.

Sorry, you can tell I'm a HUGE Dominick Cruz fan.

I don't think he's not trying to finish, but when you're that experienced you tend to know when the finish is there and when it isn't there. Cruz doesn't have a lot of power in his strikes and to go for the KO would disrupt all of the juking and jiving that got him to the top. That said, I get it from a cosmetic standpoint.

I dont give a damn if Cruz goes 10 more fights and doesn't finish, i'll still watch him fight. He is just entertaining to me.

same here, I enjoy his 25 minutes of entertainment. And I don't agree that he doesn't try to finish, because you could tell with the way he throws his punches that he's throwing with everything he's got. But because of his constant hopping , he doesn't end up generating nearly as much power as he wishes.

Also, I think what makes Cruz so awesome is that he's supposed to be so bad because of the large amount of mistakes in his technique and what not, but he just manages to keep making these "mistakes" work.

Yeah, i just don't think he possesses the ability to finish. I don't think he hits very hard, even with his kicks, and he doesn't really have an offensive jiu jitsu game. Although he did almost choke MM. I like watching him a lot, and this comes from a long time Faber fan.
