Wiki

Andre Galvao Wiki

Still relatively inexperienced in the world of professional mixed martial arts, Andre Galvao is one of the most respected Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioners in the world, having won titles in the World Jiu-Jitsu Championships and the Pan American Championships for upwards of a decade. While he competes in MMA at 170 lbs., that did not stop Galvao from taking third in the 2007 ADCC Submission Wrestling World Championships Openweight division.

Having trained with notable camps such as Black House and the Wand Fight Team, Galvao has made a successful transition to MMA competition, winning bouts with John Alessio and Luke Stewart since making his debut in 2008. Galvao had his first setback in the cage against wrestler Tyron Woodley in 2010.
