In the Finals of the Welterweight Grand Prix, Lithuanian fighter Marius “The Whitemare” Zaromskis came out of nowhere to win the tournament with back-to-back head-kick knockouts of Hayato Sakurai and Jason High in the Semifinal and Final Rounds, respectively. In other action, Shinya Aoki defeated Vitor Ribeiro via Unanimous Decision, while former WEC Middleweight Champion Paulo Filho defeated Melvin Manhoef with a first-round Armbar.
