I hate to see how some of these guys get no credit whatsoever, so I made this ranking. Bustamante was the first guy to come to mind, one of the first legit NHB fighters, ever, and he still managed to evolve and stay relevant in the sport for a long, long time. Former UFC champion, Pride tournament finalist (in a final where he arguably won, against Dan Henderson) and one of the best grapplers the sport has seen. I'm sure there are a lot of other guys that deserve credit as well.

Everyone else is making these (awesome) new rankings, thought I'd get in on the fun. Make your list, then tell me the ranking you made and since you were nice to me I'll return the favor.

I agree with Lopati...Renato Laranja is severely underrated as a 27-time BJJ Mundial Champion.

Look even Renzo Gracie knows what we're talking about...

@swick that's awesome!

These two are both very under-rated

Ya, Bisping's underrated enough to be the top draw in England, make a ****LOAD of money, co-main event or main event every card he's on, and be in the position of getting a title shot.

Oh, and coaching the Ultimate Fighter. Damn, he's SOOOOO underrated, it's a shame he's never noticed.

@anik that doesn't mean he isn't under-rated.
The guy has 3 losses in his career two of which are against two of the greatest of all time Dan Henderson and Wanderlei Silva the other is against a top three LHW.
He has never been submitted and only been knocked out by the man with the heaviest hands in MMA fighting.

Don't get me wrong i'm not a Bisping fan really but the guy does not get the credit he deserves.

I wrote a massive paragraph but for some reason the page ****** up and it all erased. I don't wanna type it again. A fighter should be judged on his wins, not his losses. Bisping's lost to great competition but he's beaten scrubs. The best guy he beat's Chris Leben.

If anything, Bisping is over rated IMO. Top 10 guy with zero top 20 wins. To each his own I guess, let's see if he can beat Sonnen.

Not a fan of Bisping at all, but Mayhem was top 20, Akiyama was top 20, Dan Miller was top 20, Denis Kang was top 20 when they fought, as was Leben. I get what you were saying Mino, but that was a pretty off base post.

Akiyama may have been top 20, don't think i agree on Dan Miller, Kang, or Mayhem. Maybe Leben.

Dan Miller started 11-1 and 3-0 in the UFC, then lost to Maia and Sonnen before fighting Bisping. That sounds like a top 20 resume to me. I'd really be interested in seeing your top 20 MW's prior to the Bisping/Mayhem fight if you didn't have Mayhem there. Kang is definitely borderline so I'll give you that one. And back in 2008 I could be wrong but I just don't see anyway there were 20 MW's at the time you could rank ahead of Leben.

@minotauro11 I was calling for the Bisping-overrated first but even I gotta say that those guys were in everyone's top 20's when they fought (do not know about Kang but Sexyama and Mayhem were def top 20 when they fought).
