What chrispm said.....it's illegal in my state too. You can still use offshore books. Bovada and Betonline are the best. Just because it's illegal to operate a sports book in your state doesn't mean it's illegal to play a sportsbook outside the jurisdiction.

Plus I think I remember you saying you live in MA..... it's legalized in CT RI and NH all you gotta do is drive over the border and you can use those legal betting apps.

@chris ah right. Should probably get on that

@njrp yeah but even just watching tape on him I think he’s pretty solid in the he applying department. It’s also more on the side of askarovs tda. The only person he’s really dominated on the ground was benavidez but he was past his prime. The wrestling is high level but idk

@dc yeah there’s that too. I live pretty close to the new casino that opened in NH so I definitely have to hit that up sometime soon. Cant believe DK was founded in MA and ******* sport betting is still illegal!

I thought the line would move the other way as I think the fight should be close to a pickem. That's why I jumped on the KKF +228 line. But it moved the other way, like Lmao said prob russian wrestler bias. Also what I noted earlier about parlays. A lot of people as far as I can tell like to throw as many big favorites as they can into their parlays thinking them "safe" bets when they can sometimes be anything but. I see this polarizing effect in the odds all the time. If you want the best possible dog bet in a fight where everyone is on the favorite wait until moments before a fight start or at least day of.

The weird thing is that Askarov was a pickem vs Benavidez and I had a similar reaction there, jumping on Askarov because I thought he should be a big favorite at that stage in Benavidez career. Looks like he went from undervalued to overvalued which caught me off guard.

Too bad I got my bet on Pinnacle who won't let me cashout or I could cashout rebet at a small cost to get a much greater payout if it hits.

@njrp it’s possible but idk. I think Royval is in a category of his own because his style is so unorthodox. Royval kind of just threw the kitchen sink at Kai. I feel like he’s a guy who could sub anyone because his scrambles create very odd angles for him to get subs. Now that I think about it askarov vs royval would be absolute chaos

Paul Craig is a unicorn because power bottom jiu-jitsu doesn't really work, They're a reason they're a saying position over submission because about 80-90% of the time the guy on top beats the guy on bottom, And it hard to submit someone from bottom because generally the guy on top know jiu-jitsu well also, But I love watching Paul Craig because MMA will be so much more boring if everyone just only use the most effective styles, Because variety in general is alway fun, I like how Paul Craig is doing well

But from a picking point of view, Just pick the guy with better wrestling and cardio is usually the best way to go, 2 most important skills in MMA

It's not Russian bias, cmon now. Askarov is undefeated with wins over Benavidez, Pantoja, and arguably Moreno. The guy's an absolute dog, and as much as I like Kai, we can't rate his KO win against Garbrandt too highly. Cody's really swirling the drain and can't take damage anymore. Askarov is certainly not losing grappling exchanges with the Royval's of the world.

GRASSO BY SUB IS +900

Predictions: 5 of 12 Winners, 3 Perfect, 365 Points   |   Tied for 2373rd

Grasso has a very underrated ground game, imo she beat esparza and pretty much shut her down in 3rd round. She threw up armbar submission attempts in both esparza and barber fights. Jojo has the tendency to leave the arm out and I can see grasso catching up that armbar submission, especially in later rounds where jojo seemss to slow down a little. What do you guys think?

It has influence tho. Askarov is the rightful favorite but Kai has a much better chance of winning this than +250. He doesn’t have any good wins but I think he’s got all the tools to win the fight

I sorta think it's a waste of time to get mad at lines if you agree the favorite is going to win. Unless it gets to like -650 or something. -300 for a guy 80% of Tap is going to favor, I mean thats what the odds are there to measure. And if you're not even tempted to bet Kai at +260, then deep down you agree with the odds.

Dont get hung up on the word mad. Insert "strongly disagree with" or whatever in place of "mad". IMO good value on someone you think will lose is bad value.

Yeah, I think people misunderstand why lines get beat up because someone is favored to win. Inevitably as people parlay and straight bet these individuals it’s going to get past a reasonable probability, but this is what trailers do. Should Askar, statistically be favored to win at 95% probably not, but the outcome is either 100% or 0%, so even if someone doesn’t think Askar is a guaranteed win, if their mental outcome is still that he wins that’s a bet or no bet situation, 100 or 0.

Who is mad about the lines? I'm not mad about the lines, I'm happy. Means I get a good bet!

I suppose people would say I was mad for betting Herbert at +400 last week? Yep totally won't make money over time with that bet (that was sarcasm).

The thing is that betting is a mix of value vs who going to win because value is all good but if it doesn’t win than you don’t win, but a -600 is more likely then not going to win the fight, but if more of it a certainty they win the fight

Like topuria last week for example, he won but he had a rough time before the KO, and Herbert was winning, They’re was a very likely chance you parley was about to be done for, but he won so that doesn’t matter
