Predictions: 5 of 12 Winners, 0 Perfect, 250 Points   |   Tied for 3477th

Blaydes vs. Daukaus
Chris Daukaus, TKO, R1
I want Daukaus to win, but I think that if Curtis gets even one takedown it's a wrap, his wrestling is still probably the best at HW

Askarov vs. Kara-France
Askar Askarov, SUB, R2
Hopefully Askar makes weight and doesn't blow his chance at #1 contender spot again

Brown vs. Barberena
Bryan Barberena, TKO, R2
Prime Brown wins this I think, but at this stage of his career I think the heavy hands will be a bit too much

Diakiese vs. Borshchev
Viacheslav Borshchev, TKO, R2
FOTN I think. Going with the hype train

Predictions: 6 of 12 Winners, 4 Perfect, 400 Points   |   Tied for 1815th

Blaydes vs. Daukaus
Chris Daukaus, TKO, R1
Here's my take on it: Blaydes is the better fighter, yes, but he's content to coast around on the feet for a bit before shooting. That's where I think Chris will shine; he's stupidly fast for a heavyweight, and he packs some serious heat in his hands. Imo, Blaydes could win by implementing his wrestling right away but I don't see that happening. I see Chris landing his signature left hook and making a comeback.

Askarov vs. Kara-France
Askar Askarov, DEC
Gonna be interesting to see if Kai Kara can better fend off chained wrestling, but I don't like his chances of it tbh. Maybe he scores a knockdown for a brief like Moreno... but idk. I see Askar finding his groove. Hope I'm wrong tho!

Dvořák vs. Nicolau
David Dvořák, DEC
Battle of the prospects; fun scrap. Nicolau is really good, and he did better against Kape than I expected him to do. That's an impressive performance, regardless of whether he should've won or lost. But Dvorak is *really* good, and equally, Tim found more success against Matheus than I'd liked, so the pick is Dvorak.

I don't know how anyone can bet on Diakese at this point.  His last fight out, after a long lay off, proves he is too distracted trying to run his own gym rather than focusing on training himself to compete.  I think Slava Claus messes him up pretty badly.

Diakiese is ******

Predictions: 7 of 12 Winners, 1 Perfect, 405 Points   |   Tied for 1663rd

Viacheslav is a blood drinking-mammoth punching-head chopping-skull *******-cannibalizing feral ******* savage, a cold blooded war machine forged and perfected using the most advanced technology in the dwarven ruins to craft the ultimate death adder. Oh, and his dance moves are pretty nice too.

In all honesty, Marc is a pretty decent prospect but the chances of him winning a standup fight with a Russian with over 100 kickboxing bouts is pretty ******’ sparse. I don’t know how far Viacheslav will go in his career but one thing is for sure, Marc ain’t the guy.

Daukaus BJJ

Predictions: 6 of 12 Winners, 4 Perfect, 440 Points   |   Tied for 1266th

Can it be a factor in this fight on the ground? My initial thought is no. While almost equal height, Blaydes is the bigger fighter and likely smothers Daukaus on the ground. I've seen stranger things happen though.

"Terrible news. Just confirmed that onama will not be fighting on this card despite being listed as tba on the broadcast today. Very weird they wouldn’t let him fight lutz. "

Yeah I can’t understand why they wouldn’t let the two fight each other. They’re actively looking for a replacement for lutz tho. Maybe they want to give onama a top guy?

So if they are in Ohio, does anyone know what's up with who the judges will be? I'm pretty sure I was hearing familiar names when they were in London, but in Texas it was people specific to Texas. Does anyone know another card when they were in Ohio from before covid?

That’s pretty bad but whoever that Russian bloke was that reffed Saint Benoit vs Elizeu Zaleski is still the worst ref of all time IMO

Early bets:

Big bet on France, this should be close to a pickem. Askarov is better on the ground but France has an 87% (deserved) TDD and has been looking better and better in his last couple fights, I'm done doubting him.

Standard bet on Barbarena. Potentially close fight and Barbarena is seemingly on a downward trajectory. But so is Matt Brown at age 41. Both are good in clinch fights. Brown might have an edge wrestling but he gets about 1 TD per 15 min last 4 years at a 25% success rate. Barbarena gets taken down on 1/3 attempts but is good at getting to his feet using the cage. Barbarena has good lowkicks that should be effective vs Brown.
I think Barbarena can out-volume and pressure and win either through better gastank or having a stronger chin than Brown.
