Stop hating, It just stupid to say Edman is not a 'elite fighter", You have to be blind to say that Edmund doesn't have potential, Dude won the first and the second round was close with Jack Hermanson and he only 23 years old. Dude not a 'publicity stunt', He's the real deal.

Also **** take to say UFC has to return to those good old days, UFC alway had publicity stunts,Chuck going to the 2003 grand prix, Brock Lesnar getting a title shot , CM Punk, Kimbo Slice comes to mind

I just want to get the UFC to be what it once was when fighters actually respected one another and the sport of MMA.  The publicity stunts like Greg Hardy have nearly ruined the UFC's reputation and MMA's reputation in the US.

Also I find it funny is how you blame the UFC and the fans for ruining Shabazian in one of your most dislike Post, i fell like your a guy who just use any excuse to hate the UFC as now you saying the UFC should stop having hype trains and blaiming shabizion

@Tepid I honestly don't remember a time when the UFC ever matched the description you've given of it. It was a turd of a promotion in the early days (which is why everybody watched PRIDE) and  didn't demonstrate any more adherence to a moral ethos than it does currently. They've always allowed animals to fight, knowing they were animals. In fact, I suspect if it were legal they would probably put on bouts between literal animals.

Jon Jones could probably molest Diego Sanchez's ******** training partner in the car park before a bout, win by split decision, and still get a FOTN bonus.

They're in the business of making stars because stars make money. Anything that gets in the way of that, including ethical issues, is just an externality. Nothing short of a fighter actually going to jail would prevent the UFC from booking that fighter.

If you have a subscription to UFC Fight Pass, watch the UFC 10 tournament final between Mark Coleman and Don Frye.  It was a fight between two great wrestlers that had a lot of respect for each other and the sport.

Predictions: 8 of 14 Winners, 3 Perfect, 505 Points   |   Tied for 3169th

Usman vs. Covington II
Kamaru Usman, DEC
I originally had Colby in this fight but I think Usman can handle Covington better in the second fight. Masvidal was giving Kamaru problems in the second fight where Usman was down 21 to 31 in Significant Strikes. And Usman knocked him out cold. He was originally a wrestler but his kickboxing is a thing of beauty now. I agree that Usman is #1 P4P and I think he should’ve got moved there a long time ago. So I think he beats Colby by 49-46 UD.

Michailidis vs. Pereira
Andreas Michailidis, TKO, R2
I wanna pick Alex but I think he might be overhyped here.

Williams vs. Garry
Ian Garry, DEC
Really good firefight here.

Vergara vs. Osbourne
C.J. Vergara, TKO, R1
Good debut fight for Vergara. Likely take a page out of Kapes book. Flying knee while Ode shoots.

Hawes vs. Curtis
Chris Curtis, TKO, R2
Bummy clincher gets slept.

Gaethje vs. Chandler
Justin Gaethje, TKO, R2
That is one of the most exciting matchup of the year, including all the title fights, and the Michel Pereira vs whoever. Can't wait to watch that technical violence (5 rounds would 've been better, but I don't want to complain).

Burgos vs. Quarantillo
Billy Quarantillo, DEC
Brillant matchmaking. What a fun fight it should be.

Shahbazyan vs. Imavov
Nassourdine Imavov, DEC
Imavov is a beast, and still progressing. He was one punch away to win against Hawes, his lone defeat in the UFC thus far. Other than that, he showed a complete arsenal with deep gas tank, very dangerous striking, and nice take downs. I expect him to win a competitive but clear decision here, en route to the top 10.

Michailidis vs. Pereira
Andreas Michailidis, DEC
Pereira is a beast, and the rightfull favorite here, but I wouldn't count Michailidis out at all. He dominated Bhullar so much it was embarrassing to watch in his last fight, and his UFC loss is very controversial : he had a really competitive fight against the talented and promising Bukauskas, but got caught and dropped at the end of a round, at the buzzer, and everybody thought he was "saved by the bell". Hélas, he had the bad luck of having his back against the octogon's door when it oppened for the cornermen, and he fell on his back. Was he still that hurt ? Was it just surprise, and lack of awarness ? The ref choose to stop the fight, but I personaly thought he would have been OK to continue. Anyway, he's a tough welcome to test Pereira here, and it should answer a lot of questions.

Villante vs. Barnett
Chris Barnett, TKO, R1
Weird fight, Villante should'nt be in the UFC anymore (especially not at heavyweight), and I'm a big fan of big crazy spinning Barnett, but is he UFC caliber either ? Can he be fun against elite competition ? Ah, Let's just hope it's a quick KO.

Hawes vs. Curtis
Phil Hawes, DEC
Hawes really scared me a few fights ago against Imavov, when he was a punch away from losing a fight at the end of round 3. But Imavov proved to be a very promising fighter recently, with endless cardio and hard power in his fists, so in retrospect that makes the win over him that much impressive, despite the tough last round.

Edgar is ******

Predictions: 2 of 6 Winners, 1 Perfect, 125 Points   |   Tied for 4502nd

Consider this take with an apostrophe: I am gay for Marlon Vera. Marlon Vera touches me in places I can’t show my the******. He’s easily my favorite Bantamweight and a cool cat. But I won’t let my bias force me to believe Edgar doesn’t have a chance and will fall apart.

That being said, Edgar doesn’t have a chance and will fall apart.

What a strange fighter Edgar has transformed himself into. It feels so long ago but there really was a time he was considered one of the best wrestlers in MMA. Now he really only commits to panic wrestling. Since 2015, the total amount of takedowns he has successfully committed to is a grand total of 14/76…for comparison, Darren Elkins, who’s entire style is just spamming double legs, has 38/91 takedowns. This is what happens when you stick with what works for way too long. The last time he actually had significant amount of success on the ground was against Yair Rodriguez, and Yair is a cherry picking *****. Unless he’s into autoerotic asphyxiation, I doubt Yair has ever choked out anyone in his life. He’s pretty much reduced himself to a boxer. A good boxer, but not enough to carry him any further into the Bantamweight rankings than he already has.

Now, will takedowns be a significant issue against Marlon? Yes, because Marlon’s takedown defense is below average. Not terrible, but due to his Thai-esque posture, he tends to be more vulnerable to takedowns. So taking that option out of equation, can Edgar stand with Marlon? Not really. Both of them are slow starters, but while Edgar picks up the pace, Marlon takes the pace and ******* power bombs it with superior attrition, body work, aggressive footwork and some of the most brutal cage pressure I’ve ever seen. His last fight with Davey Grant was the best he’s looked and while I wouldn’t take Edgar’s victory out of the question, odds wise? It shouldn’t be very competitive.

Vera via DEC

Predictions: 12 of 14 Winners, 4 Perfect, 740 Points   |   Tied for 338th

Usman vs. Covington II
Kamaru Usman, TKO, R4
Close rounds 1-2, Colby more volume but Usman investing in the body and the jab. Colby shoots, gets reversed, Usman ends up on top in round 3. Lands some ground and pound to end the round. Straight 1-2 down the middle into back of the head shots too finish the fight early in the fourth.

Namajunas vs. Zhang II
Rose Namajunas, DEC
I am done picking chinese fighters smh.

Gaethje vs. Chandler
Justin Gaethje, TKO, R2
Gaethje lands a few hard leg kicks to open the round as Chandler presses forward. One of the kicks makes Chandler stumble a bit. Justin feints a leg kick and Chandler rushes in for a big right but gets countered by a left hook by Gathje which puts him down and Gaethje finishes the job.

Edgar vs. Vera
Marlon Vera, DEC
Vera has better striking, reach and size advantage even though Edgar was a lightweight? tf. Vera showed improved TDD and I think Edgar will be hesitant to shoot because of the Sandhagen fight, and get picked apart from range.

Burgos vs. Quarantillo
Shane Burgos, DEC
Fight of the night, high pace. Burgos just went to war twice, and he is very hittable. Quarantillos wins are against **** comp. Burgos, better reach better jab phenomenal TDD. Burgos first two rounds, gets caught in third maybe. 29-28

Shahbazyan vs. Imavov
Nassourdine Imavov, DEC
Brunson and Hermansson already paved way + dagestani, but Shahbazyan could make it close if he improved wrestling at AKA. Imavov 30-27

Iaquinta vs. Green
Bobby Green, DEC
Iaquinta time off + Green looked good against Fiziev. Iaquinta too old + standup looks unimpressive. Green by decision 30-27

Michailidis vs. Pereira
Alex Pereira, TKO, R2
Gotta take the Hype train. I don't think michailidis will get Pereira down, but not betting on this ****. Pereira finds the chin in the second.

Williams vs. Garry
Ian Garry, DEC
Williams is ****, Garry is legit.

Vergara vs. Osbourne
C.J. Vergara, TKO, R2
Osbourne fast turnaround from getting KO'd. Vergara seems like good striker. Does not go the distance/Under 2 1/2

Villante vs. Barnett
Chris Barnett, TKO, R1
Both are so **** but Barnett by KO

Camur vs. Allan
Aleksa Camur, DEC
Camur looked good against Negumereanu, good striking.
