Bummer. I was going to fade Maximov hard against Roberson. Maximov looks good on paper but when you actually dig a bit and look at his record and watch a few of his fights he's completely unproven against anyone even near Roberson's level, and I could not find any tape of him from old or recent History where he looked amazing at all. His wins are against guys with like two bouts under their belts.

People were picking him because of Roberson's TDD and ground game I guess. But look at the grapplers he has lost to-- Texiera, Ferriera, Vettori, Allen. I can virtually assure you that Maximov is not a ******* patch on any of those guys in the grappling department.

Brundage is basically just Ian Heinisch. Exactly the same fighter minus the granby rolls. Won't be shocked if he pulls out a win here, Maximov is horrifically overrated.

Team Diaz taking L's

Predictions: 9 of 13 Winners, 3 Perfect, 580 Points   |   Tied for 2408th

Honestly the more I think about this the more I think that Nick might end up getting slept inside a round! I know it's never happened and Lawler has been a shell of himself for a few years now. But Nick hasn't won a fight since 2011!!! He's also been living in Las Vegas clubs for about 5 years!!!  Diaz was an amazing action fighter and is a legend but MMA isn't something that you can be half assed about. Hope I'm wrong but I've seen too many legends Get slept to not feel like it happens again.

How good is Maximov and how much is Diaz hype??? He has decent BJJ, half decent wrestling and pretty poor striking. Don't think he's beaten anyone with a winning record yet either.

As for the other guy, Sano. Remember Chris Avila???  He's probably worse!

Well, I couldn't find any footage of Maximov looking exceptional in any way. In fact, I seriously doubt his BJJchops  and think they're being pretty hugely overstated. 20 minutes ago I watched him get leg-locked by a dude who looked more like  the welsh national darts champion than a serious Judoka.

Yeah the closer this gets, the less I feel good about Nick even fighting. He's not saying he needs the money, but when he talks he basically puts together a jigsaw puzzle where "needs the money" is the only piece that fits. I assumed he was doing what Nate was, and thats get high and work out in the gym they own. When he first floated the comeback idea he put out a picture of himself absolutely shredded.

But now that we're here, he looks old and bloated and sad. In the shadowboxing promo they filmed it looked like he forgot how to punch. And he's talking like he'd rather be anywhere else. My man, this is YOUR comeback. You called for this. Act like you want it...

@Mikey I did my due diligence on Sano. Watched a few of his fights a couple of times over. It was a bit like stepping on dog **** and sniffing your boot twice just to make sure.

I'll say this: Last night a bee got trapped in my house. I was so terrified I crawled on all fours to the landline, and called my grandmother who rushed over and chased it out of a window with a broom.

Sano is bigger than me but I would happily fight him at catchweight.

I'll leave it there.

After watching this I don't think this fight should have been booked. Nick isn't going to want to be there. On top of that he's either recently been concussed or has smoked himself ******** or he's otherwise in some kind of mental decline. Whole thing was disturbing and depressing.

I think there's a real chance this thing looks like the last Chuck vs Tito fight.

yo if you ever picked against Cashy Chris Daukaus AKA The Great Chris since he's been in the UFC shame on you. It was clear he was gonna cash as a dog both times haha, he dropped like 15 Lbs each fight. I love that yall are picking Shamil, it really brings joy to my soul. Keep that line tight for me until the weigh ins

It's funny just last night I said NO WANT ONE SHOULD WANT TO SEE THAT FIGHT (Diaz v. Lawler0.... but I guess you guys needed the interview to remind you just how slow this guy is. 6 years off was not gonna return brain function to this guy

I'm rooting for Lawler wholeheartedly now

Really surprised at how much marlon is being faded here by the crowd.

He’s lost back to back due to short turn over and long, precise strikers that hit on the button.
Merab is levels below marlon in terms of striking, and the stanman fight made me more confident marlon can catch him and either KO or sub him with a guillotine while rocked.

There has been little evidence to back up the fact that marlon crumbles to wrestlers, in fact I would say he does well against grapplers. Marlon is still elite and poses serious fight ending threat to a rushed merab that in my opinion is defensively unsound.

I think marlon gets merab out in r1

Nick diaz seriously needs to be faded, especially at even odds (now 1.72 Lawler which is still a steal)
He looks dejected, unable to cut weight and hasn’t fought in over 6 years.
The interview with Brett basically saying he’s been forced to return to fighting is a massive red flag.
Lawler despite losing, has been losing to cream of crop fighters who are still relevant.
This could be ugly imo

@feelingrain Moraes got wrestle-dommed by Cejudo, who is probably too short for most of the rides at disneyland. Merab is going to manhadle him with ease, and he could actually get 10-7'ed in this fight.

Stamann is a very, very high quality wrestler, wrestled his ass off, pulled out all the stops and still lost to Merab.  Moraes is about 1/3 the wrestler Cody is.

@baldriceggling

Cejudo wrestled him in the 3rd, after a round of clinch control and brutal knees.
In the 1st round, cejudo couldn’t get near marlon - he was getting heat every time he tried to close the distance.

I think cejudo is a much more complete fighter than merab, and poses dangerous pocket/clinch striking.

I brought up stamann fight because despite throwing more, stamnn actually stunned merab twice in the first round but didn’t capitalize

I guess we’ll see on the actual night

Let me start with thanking everyone for all the love. It means a lot

I also think I'm the only person picking Cynthia Calvilo on here. I really think Cynthia is gonna have the performance of her lifetime while Andrade is gonna  have the worst of her. I think Cynthia know she gets a title shot if she beats Andrade and Andrade is off losing a title fight. I also don't like how much of a lock everyone has Andrade is. It just a bad vibe. Last point I think Andrade is at the end of her career so her losing is likely

I'm not gonna lie and say Cynthia doesn't have a high chance of getting Hulk smashed. Andrade is the smarter and better pick. Might be more of a vibe i'm getting. I might look ******** on Sunday.

Maximov vs. Brundage
Cody Brundage, DEC
Bit risky considering Brundage has only stepped in on a few days notice but I think his style is a problem for Maximov. Very good wrestler, he has the ability to keep it standing and his striking isn't all that bad either. Brundage might use his own wrestling too, he's decent on the top and I think this fight is won by whoever can gain top control. Risky pick but I'm going for it
