yu frey isnt the first atomweight to try the straw weights and come up short. alex chambers "astro girl" is another way undersized fighter for straw weight. ayaka hamasaki is another although she fights across both divisions she is way undersized compared to some of the bigger girls in the ufc. i think the ufc would be well served to have an atom weight division.

Dude, @Hyrm you gotta watch OneFC sometime my man, I think you'd like it. Like the average height and weight for a lot of the asian countries is smaller than it is in the EU or States. It's like watching human beyblades, there are some savages at the lower weight classes. Guys who walk around at like 128ish and some of the atomweight female fighters like Loma Lookboonmee who are a joy to watch are common over there. It's a great talent pool, particularly for the female division.

Go watch a Rodtang fight and tell me that **** is boring.

I agree with @Tieoken and @phillip53. The women's Atomweight has got to be one of the most underappreciated weight divisions in MMA and I'd love to see the UFC introduce a women's Atomweight division. If they did, it would certainly be better than their Women's Featherweight division.

Much like how featherweight and below used to be dominated by Japanese mma fighters many years ago. Once the weight class gets picked up by the UFC, the competition will drastically increase because there is more money to be made.

I remember when Jinh Yu Frey made the underground MMA headlines with this KO on a lower end show. This was 2013 and you didn't see a lot of women's KO's. She even posted on here but I don't think she ever posted much after this.
