He lost when favored, he lost at pivotal matches.
You rise to the occasion to be a champion not just beat people who are below you.
Basically the same story as Kenny Florian he won lots of fights lost the ones that could have made him champ.
Also having the physical advantages is way more important than what some idiot who runs a book says.

izzy is going to do to jan exactly what he did to costa. pick him apart from range, make him look like hes fighting in the mud, then ko him. 3rd or 4th round.

So I'm really not trying to jinx the event or anything guys, but if it goes down as currently advertised this is the best card since UFC 217 IMO. The only other one in the past 5 years that's also definitely better than this one is UFC 205, and the only other one that's MAYBE better is UFC 245. So if all goes to plan in 25 days we'll have the 3rd or 4th best card in the past 5 years which is insane (especially during a pandemic).

Błachowicz vs Adesanya
This fight can go 2 ways Adesanya is going to pick Jan apart like he did to Costa or 2 Jan is going to grapple and then Submit or finish Izzy with ground n pound. I personally think Jan is going to finish Adesanya in the third round.
Jan Błachowicz via TKO R3

Santos vs Rakić

I got Aleksandar via Decision, Rakic is much more athletic and fresh.  I think Santos had his time Rakic wants it more.
Aleksandar Rakic via Decision

Makhachev vs Dober
I see this fight playing out as that time Islam got knocked out. Drew Dober has much better striking than Islam but then again Islam can take Drew down. But i think Drew will be prepared for that so I got
Drew Dober via TKO R2

Jan Blachowicz is what a lot of people thought Costa would be. It was so infuriating to see everyone talking about the Power of Costa vs the Precision of Adesanya. No, Costa is a pressure fighter with average KO power, he does not have one shot KO power and has never demonstrated such, Blachowicz does, He koed Overtime with one uppercut, he KOed Rockhold with one left hook on a clinch break, he left swelling on Reyes body with 2 kicks and broke his nose with one punch. He koed everyone in attendance with a boring fight against Jacare (bet you forgot about that fight). Jan can catch Izzy where Costa couldnt, and Izzy has a huge challenge here

This whole event is so stacked it should sell 2m ppv's.
I mean, you've got Russian superstar, current most hyped Polish fighter, as a Pole I can say it is easily the most important and the biggest fight for Polish MMA. You've also got 2 other belt fights, Santos vs. Rakic those two guys are dangerous as hell.. What I'm tryna say is they should promote this event as much as they can.

There isn't a bad fight on this *****. Everything from from the debutants to the main event it's straight fireworks. My personal favorites:

  • Kyler Phillips vs Song Yadong
  • Sean Brady vs Jake Matthews
  • Islam Machachev vs Drew Dober
  • Casey Kenney vs Dominick Cruz

@tieoken It show how good the card is when you don't even mention
Santos Vs Rakiks
Benevedez vs Askar
or  the title fights
This is 100% the most stacked card of all time,Name me a card with better matchup on it, Don't give a **** about names, The matchup are fun, Even then this card has the biggest star at the moment in Izzy as main event going for champ Champ

@Duck UFC 217 is definitely better. This card if it goes down as it is absolutely in the top 4 all-time though.

Stacked ******* PPV. We were getting to used to PPV with a great main event and garbage for every other fight. This card is great top to bottom. What gives UFC?

If we cut out like 3 PPVs a year and like 8 Fight nights the UFC would be so much better

I disagree with the fight nights part, let the fight nights be whatever they are. The rise in number of fighters is astronomical and we need more slots for up and comers and journeymen to duke it out to find fighters to fill PPV and main card slots.

So what if they aren't all great fights, I like to think of it as culling. Give the athlete their shot, if they are entertaining let them fight out their contracts. If they are GOOD bump them up. If they suck, at least the person who beat them probably put on a good show and you can build prospects up by letting them beat 'em for the remainder of their contract. If BOTH fighters suck and it's boring, then cut them.

I think they are trying to make stars by stacking the cards in hopes that a new star will get noticed.  If Adesanya wins, this could be a turning point.

Betting is a plus.  I just yearn for the old days when there were a bunch of stars in the same era. Couture, Liddell, Ortiz, Franklin, Anderson Silva, Hendo, etc
