When did Guida wrestle a cougar? Was it after the Peralta fight?

I don't know why they were booing him.  It was a close fight, could've gone either way, but IMO La Quinta did enough.  MoreVital should have stopped effing around and gone for a finish.

So now we've had,

Am I forgetting anything?

I was watching the Iaquinta vs Masvidal fight and saying Masvidal is going to give away rounds 2 and 3. He was backing up too much and not throwing enough. Hhe had the ability to dominate Iaquinta and did not do it, he chose to coast instead.

I took the event off (busy work week) and don't care much for Masvidal but think he got robbed pretty clearly.  I agree he should've turned it up and kinda coasted  that being said, I'm tired of everyone making excuses for ****** judging.

Jorge won the first and took the 2nd and 3rd off. You can't fight like that, the guy hardly finishes his fights if you look at his record. Maybe this will inspire him to actually finish a fight and not coast.

I jumped all over the judges immediately for that one too. I think I said it was one of the worst decisions ever. Then I rewatched the fight, and it's honestly way closer than I thought it was the first time around.

even when Masvidal coasted the 2nd and 3rd, he still landed the best and most shots, he didn't took the lead on aggression but he counter Iaquinta all night long, Masvidal was elusive on the defense and accurate on his offense, he clearly won the fight, I have no doubt in my mind. aggression and control of the octagon don't mean **** when you are still getting outstruck and beaten.
in my opinion Masvidal should have been a bit more aggressive but that doesn't mean he lost the fight.

I hope so too. His conservative style is basically why I don't like him. That said,  his coasting was still more that Iaquinta did.   I do hope he gets the message and becomes more aggressive because of it. However,  I think the bigger problem is the repeated ****** scoring.

I dunno ... his coasting does frustrate me, but there are so little fighters with his technique level at both standup and ground games that I can't bring myself to dislike him (even though he's kind of a ****bag as a person).

He has a great understanding and feel of a fight and is much more fun to watch that most UFC fighters (at least for me). I appreciate high-level technique and "ring IQ" a lot more than slobber-knockers and sloppy-bloody barn-burning brawls.

If he'd have added one flurry per round like the one he put on at the end of round 1 it would have been a great fight and easy win and with his amazing chin, Al's speed (or lack thereof) and great combinations and angles I see absolutely no reason he couldn't have done just that.

I've spent a long time trying to understand Masvidal and why he'll never be great and have come to the conclusion (I could be wrong) that he's one of the few that do this for money and money alone. He could give a rat's ass about the sport, belts, rankings, celebrity status (besides the fact they bring more money along) so he has a hard time mustering up the motivation to go the extra mile both inside and outside the cage. That along with the fact that he knows he's so darn good at it (making him believe he will always be able to fall back on his talent to pull out a win) and the fact that even when he does get in trouble he's got a crazy good chin to bail him out cause him to get "surprised" by his losses. He actually thinks he's winning during the fight (or can suddenly turn it on for a bit to secure the win) until time runs out and his name doesn't get called.

Not saying he's lazy and doesn't train, I just think he doesn't have that extra edge to turn his talent into a lethal weapon.

Masvidal says he does not feel nervous or afraid before fights and wishes he had that fear before a fight. That could be the reason he fights the way he does.

I like Masvidal's style a lot, he is one of the most fun and interesting fighters out there even if he gets only decisions, I've been thinking a lot about why he doesn't finish the fights he clearly can, and I too believe it has something to do with motivation, he just do what has to be done, but I don't see any hunger in him, even so he still can do more than most in the 155 div. I wish he had some kind of Lawler/Brown revitalization so we could see him at his best for a while

Fight metric for Iaquinta vs Masvidal. Masvidal outstruck Iaquinta in every round, but in the 2nd and 3rd it was close. 3 strikes and 8 strikes in those rounds. He was constantly being backed up also. A lot closer than I originally thought like I said.

I laugh if McGregor beats aldo and then has to face Mendes. Mcgregor's face will look like zhit after that fight. If denis siver took him down Mendes will just brutalize him. Mendes being shorter will help his wrestling vs the taller Conor. Leverage.
