I picked 2 out of 5 right.  I got Wanderlei and Sanchez.  I missed Struve, Lombard and Siyar.

I believe the UFC was disappointed in the results.  The exciting, entertaining strikers, Lombard, Bahadurzada got out-fought by better fighters.  The grapplers shut down their stand-up game.

The UFC is hoping that exciting strikers will help them get the fans going.  But there is a problem with that thinking.  Very often, wrestling-type fighters will beat more exciting stand-up type fighters.  It's always been that way.  That's the norm.

Silva vs. Stann - Fantastic fight.  Vintage Wanderlei.  He can't retire now.  Not after that.

Hunt vs. Struve - Struve fought more passively and non-aggressively than he has in a long time.  He didn't snap his jab in Hunt's face.  He fought like a different fighter.

Sanchez vs. Gomi - I was surprised they gave it to Diego.  I was delighted, but feel they robbed Gomi.

Okami vs. Lombard - Lombard should have been much more aggressive.  His TD defense sucked to hell.  He has the potential to be a little Tyson but needs to get consistent.

Kim vs. Bahadurzada - Kim shut him down and smothered him.  Siyar will need to find better TD defense if he wants to fulfill his early potential.

Strives fight IQ is not good at all, he did not use a jab, he let hunt get inside so easily. He did not look the same as he did in his streak. His cardio was shot, he worked way to hard for submissions. Hunt impressed me with his submission defense, he definitely impressed me with that.

Speaking of fighting dumb, what was up with Hector Lombard?

He's down 2 rounds, and he takes the opponent down and holds him there, as if winning the round will win the fight?  He's as dumb as an ox.  Definitely lacks fighting brains.

Why wasn't his corner screaming at him to stand up and go for the KO finish?  Man what a moron.

@MMApicker42, I agree totally, and not just for his total lack of ability to use his reach/height advantage ... he also had Hunt on the ground flapping around like a fish out of water in both the first 2 rounds and instead of methodically working to finish he threw a couple of über-sloppy armbars that helped Hunt get back up.

Not that I mind that much, I love Marko Hunto and have stopped waiting for Struve to reach his "full potential" a long time ago.

I think this is more or less the best Struve will ever be ... he's not the awkward noob he used to be, but he's definitely not beating anyone who will keep looking for his chin or take him into the 3rd.

I guess people need to remember that athleticism (mainly the ability to improve your cardio, I don't think Struve will have good cardio no matter how much he works on it ... it may get better, but it'll never be good, he's just not rigged that way) and intelligence are also things you need in order to calculate potential and not just physical gifts.

I'm going to have to start a Tumblr just so I can link all the great photos and videos I took from the event! (Since I don't know how to put non-linked pics in...)

It was so damn magical! The Japanese fans are the greatest and even though some fights did not go the way I wanted (Caceres and Sanchez did not win those fights!), I had ana amazing time.

We got pics with Bruce Buffer, Kenny Florian, the Iceman Chuck Liddell, and this one guy ran into Sanchez coming out of the bathroom and Sanchez let him put him in a headlock for a picture.

Super classy and fantastic, I hope you all could see me,
for the last 4 fights I was down by the walkout area, trying to ham it up when the cameras panned out for the walkout!

I can't wait to do it again!!!

Looking back I'm annoyed with myself for picking Lombard. Other than that I don't think I would have changed any of my picks. I think Caraway would win a rematch and I think Gomi should have got the decision over Sanchez.

Yeah, you got screwed on both the Gomi and Mizugaki decisions. You should have been 10/11

I think I got record downvotes last night. Apologies for being in such a foul mood, never should have tuned in to this one. I know better than to get mixed up in the Japan events.

Yeah the judging in both of the "new age" Japan cards was off. At UFC 144 there were some robberies as well.

Don't want to make wild assumptions but it seems weird since the UFC can sanction those events by them selfs.

I thought that last time they brought judges from Nevada state athletic commission. Is that what they did last night or were they Japanese judges?
