After building a solid reputation among hardcore MMA fans for delivering top-notch action, the Pride Bushido series hit its peak with Pride Bushido 9, which featured the Quarterfinal and Semifinal rounds of the first-ever Pride Lightweight and Welterweight Tournaments. Among the loaded field of participants were Akihiro Gono, Murilo Bustamante, Dan Henderson, Jens Pulver, Hayato Sakurai, Yves Edwards, Joachim Hansen, Takanori Gomi, and Tatsuya Kawajiri. Takanori Gomi remained Bushido’s biggest star. Bushido 9 also featured some of the greatest knockouts in the series.
