This is not necessarily a greatest fighters of all time ranking. I'm just curious as to whom you guys think had the most dominant peaks in the history of mixed martial arts.

I agree @Nik.. Gracie helped introduce BJJ into the sport and showed its effectiveness and therefore is very important to the sport... but he belings no where near this ranking.

@Nik Lust Royce Gracie beat the best of his time, not the best of all-time. Igor couldn't even do that.

first real one punch guy, he was one punching 0-15 fighters.

Royce beat the best at the time?? what are you talking about. No one he beat was the best at the time, lol

Severn 2-0
Jimmerson 0-0
Gordeau 2-0
Ichihara 0-0
DeLucia 2-0
Pardoel 0-0
Smith 3-1
Leopold 0-0 Van Clief 0-0 Hackney 2-0
Btw, all guys there with wins, had them in the UFC... and Hackney, Delucia, and Gordeau retired at 2-2. Dude, seriously???

Sorry @Anik.. @Nik is right on this one.  Royce is important to MMA and the UFC for different reasons than being the most dominant. He competed for about a year.. then didn't fight again until 5 years later... He won tourny's but look at the fighters on the list(s)... they domintated for years... not had a winning streak last one year.

@Nik Lust ya, those were the best at the time. First UFCs, remember? He beat Dan Severn and we all know how good he is, he beat Ken Shamrock who was good once upon a time, those were the best guys available. And Igor didn't fight the best guys available. It's all there man, you're starting to annoy me 'cause I'm saying the same **** but it's all ******* there. Royce Gracie beat Dan Severn and Ken Shamrock and Igor Vovchanchyn's biggest win was against Gary Goodridge. It's there.

But @Anik.. he took part in a few tourny's over a years time then had a 5 year hiatus only to be caught roiding... I love Royce.. don't get me wrong... but if you're looking at fighters who had a nice year... my goodness... we could add Andy Wang who went undefeated in 2009!

ya but you're not getting the juice of my post. he beat the best on the planet at the time, right? riiiiiiiiiiight?

honestly, how did this become a debate about royce ******* gracie? the **** do I care, I was talking about Igor's credibility, not ******* royce. yikes. now i'm really annoyed.

Yuki Kondo and Sakuraba are better than all of Royce's wins lol. As was Yvel. No Royce did not beat Sakuraba in the second fight because he was roiding.

Don't get angry and annoyed @Anik.. we all have an opinion.. you're passionate.. its okay. It just so happens most of us don't think Royce belongs in this particular ranking..

I was just using Royce as a basis for comparison against Igor, I never said he was the most dominant fighter ever or anything.

EDIT: Ok, I did not notice that Royce was 2nd on my list. I'm gonna change that, but he still belongs. Even if he doesn't belong, he deserves more of a place than ************* Igor Vovchanchyn.

Well, Igor did have a 37 fight unbeaten streak over a 4 and a half year period though....

then why isn't he on your list Kalibo? I could go unbeaten for 4 years if I was fighting legends like "John Dixson" and "Tulio Palhares".
