Predictions: 8 of 14 Winners, 2 Perfect, 480 Points   |   Tied for 2237th

Marshall vs. Rojo
Francis Marshall, DEC
Marshall was impressive on the contender series. He’s only 6-0 and has a lot of room for improvement but I think the grappling will be the deciding factor as I believe Rojo doesn’t have much of it

Levy vs. Valdéz
Natan Levy, DEC
Levy getting another pretty favorable matchup. I like it though, both guys are exciting for the most part

Johnson vs. Diakiese
Michael Johnson, TKO, R3
In his last two fights, Michael Johnson has demonstrated a warrior's heart. I think he gets it done here.

Elkins vs. Pearce
Jonathan Pearce, TKO, R1
This is one of those fights where Elkins either weathers the early storm and finishes his guy because they are fatigued. Or he gets blasted and finished in the first round, I will go with the ladder

Prediction Comments

Predictions: 8 of 10 Winners, 2 Perfect, 475 Points   |   Tied for 2345th

Brunson vs. Hermansson
Jack Hermansson, TKO, R3
Brunson doesn't take getting hit very well. His recent wins were against fighters who were not on his level of grappling-it will not be the case this time + Hermansson's standup against Curtis was very intelligent.

Cortez vs. Ribas
Tracy Cortez, DEC
Cortez is the better wrestler, Ribas has better BJJ. Yet Cortez has beaten both Blanchfield & Gatto, so her high level sub defense is already proven. Ribas is the better striker, but I feel most of the fight will be in grappling exchanges that Cortez pushes

Nicolau vs. Schnell
Matheus Nicolau, DEC
Nicolau is too good at being safe & Schnell leaves too many openings. Could lose if his output is too low however.

Anders vs. Daukaus
Kyle Daukaus, SUB, R1
Not confident in this one given how up & down Daukaus has been, but I think he finds a sub

Marshall vs. Rojo
Francis Marshall, SUB, R3
Wondering if the TDD of Rojo will hold, or if perhaps Kyler Phillips was just too good. I lean slightly towards Rojo getting taken down

Levy vs. Valdéz
Natan Levy, SUB, R2
Levy is the more technical fighter, so as long as he can survive the scrappy all in of Valdez in the 1st round, Genaro's poor cardio management will allow Levy to get his 1st UFC sub

Johnson vs. Diakiese
Marc Diakiese, DEC
Even though Diakiese has been wrestlef@cking lately, he remains one the best technical kickboxers in the division. He doesn't have to rely on the wrestling, he simply has more options in the pocket

Elkins vs. Pearce
Jonathan Pearce, TKO, R2
Pearce out hustling Amirkhani was noteworthy + he has the youth advantage

Predictions: 9 of 14 Winners, 2 Perfect, 555 Points   |   Tied for 1195th

Not sure if this is a hot take but I think Blanchfield should have gotten the dub over Cortez. She came much closer to finishing the fight with grappling (there was almost no stand up that I can remember between them). Cortez spent most of round one trying to fight of an armbar and didn't look particularly good in round three.

It’s been a while since I seen this fight but I got a hunch you’re probably right - after all it was a split decision =)
I’ll have to rewatch for this one for sure.
Blanchfield is elite, hope to see a rematch in the UFC and also hope she squares off with Gatto in time

I haven't seen the fight but I have gotten a feel that the general consensus is that Cortez lost that fight against Erin

@Knife I wouldnt put too much stock in Pearce outworking Makwan as opposed to his other wins where he outhustled them. If you cant outwork Makwan over 3 then you need to pick a new profession

I can agree to that Makwan statement.
I do find it note worthy that Pearce survived Makwan's best choke attempts in round 1. Gives me more confidence in case he gets to a bad position against The Damage.
