Jared Cannonier vs. Israel Adesanya

For the champion, this is a fight for his legacy. To be considered amongst the greatest UFC fighters of all-time, these are the fights he must win. 

Adesanya has been speaking in the lead up to the fight, that he wants to impress by having a spectacular performance. However when his career is done, it will only matter if he won. 

Maybe the odds don’t show it, but Izzy is a heavy favorite. This only makes Cannonier more dangerous. As Strickland and Pereira have been asked more questions about Izzy than each other, Izzy has also answered many questions about them. All focus must be kept on Jared, in order to beat the cannon man. 

This fight is to Adesanya’s legacy like Anderson Silva’s fight with Leites, Khabib vs. Michael Johnson, Jones vs. OSP, GSP vs. Jake Shields or Usman vs. Masvidal. In all these fights, the champion or future champion had bigger prizes in the horizon but had to get through the opposition first. And when you look back at their careers as a whole, it doesn’t matter how they win just that they won. 

If he loses, it’ll be like Nunes vs. Peña, Holloway vs. Volk, McGregor vs. Diaz. It doesn’t mean he won’t still be a massive superstar and the money fight of the division, but it will be difficult to add him to the greatest of all-time list. 

One thing that isn’t affected by the outcome is Adesanya is one of the greatest showman in the sport and will undoubtedly entertain again at UFC 276.

Even if Cannonier doesn’t admit, like every other fight he has had in the UFC, this is the pinnacle of his career. He is a testament to hard work paying off. And no I’m not only talking about the hard work it has taken him to go 5-1 in the middleweight division. I’m not only referring to the hard work he has put in to come back from multiple set backs. I’m not only talking about the hard work it took to be disciplined to drop from heavyweight to middleweight. 

The cannon man had faith in his hard work all the way back in Alaska when he was working full time as a air traffic controller. The hard work it takes to put faith in a goal/gamble, when no one else believes in it other than your closest loved ones. 

Win or lose Cannonier has reached the top of the mountain and is a champion. All his hard works culminating in back to back fights with Izzy would just be the cherry on top. 

How did they get Joe Rogan in a suit but DC can’t put in a tie LOL Jon, Joe and Dan are my favorite team.

You have to respect Israel Adesanya for the walkout. That puts so much more pressure on himself. You can only imagine what will happen if he loses by KO. 

Like other dominant greats (GSP, Anderson Silva) Adesanya’s dominance is mundane to many fans. They are even running out of contenders which is making promoting his fights more and more cartoonish. Izzy being the ultimate troll of all time is playing the situation perfectly. 

Israel Adesanya has run through this middleweight division to the extent that beating Sean Strickland gets you a title shot. 

What is going under the radar is how dominant and easily Turner beat Riddell. I bet it gets downgraded in the coming months but it was ultra impressive fight. His first strike rocked Riddell badly and than his submission was like butter! 

He is DANGEROUS at lightweight not only because of his massive size advantage but he proved last night he is well-rounded. On top of them at he has a lot of UFC experience. 

His last three opponents would be heavy favorites against Pereira.
