Hmm..... What's worse, inactivity, or 2 week turnaround bout from a loss? I dunno. I know Ode would be fresh though.

That two-week turnaround time for Rivera is insane, especially coming off a losing decision like that. I'm surprised the commission is allowing this.

Overeem vs. Volkov
Alistair Overeem, TKO, R4
Not a big Overeem fan, but I gotta go w him here, late round KO.

Sandhagen vs. Edgar
Cory Sandhagen, DEC
Sandhagen all day here. I believe he’ll be fighting for the title by years end.

Johnson vs. Guida
Michael Johnson, DEC
MJ in this one. I like Clay, but this may be his last.

Pantoja vs. Kape
Alexandre Pantoja, TKO, R3
Excited to see if Kape can live up to the hype. I see him as a future contender at 35. Tough matchup for him to start UFC career, like it.

Stamann vs. Askar
Cody Stamann, TKO, R1
I think Stamann comes out ready to prove a point. Going out on a limb here, but I’m taking Stamann w a 1st rd KO.

Ferreira vs. Dariush II
Beneil Dariush, TKO, R2
Great fight! I got Dariush in this one, he’s on a roll.

Rodriguez vs. Marques
Mike Rodriguez, TKO, R2
Hoping Mike can rebound after that controversial loss in his last outing.

Jaynes vs. Smith
Devonte Smith, TKO, R2
Awesome fight!

Zalal vs. Choi
Youssef Zalal, DEC
Zalal gets back in the win column.

Prediction Comments

Predictions: 7 of 12 Winners, 3 Perfect, 455 Points   |   Tied for 1158th

Overeem vs. Volkov
Alistair Overeem, TKO, R5
Overeem has a MASSIVE amount of experience and Volkov can't throw anything he hasn't already seen. I think it's going to be a late stoppage because Overeem doesn't rush things and would rather take his time to find the right opening to attack. Volkov is a very durable fighter but I can't see him lasting all 5 rounds against Overeem here

Sandhagen vs. Edgar
Cory Sandhagen, DEC
I want to get exited over this one but I can only see this being a wide decision victory for Sandhagen. They are two top fighters at Bantamweight but they are not evenly matched in a 1v1 situation

Johnson vs. Guida
Michael Johnson, DEC
Guida has too much experience to get stopped by Johnson but I feel that his age will be a big factor here and he may start to tire out in the later rounds

Pantoja vs. Kape
Alexandre Pantoja, DEC
This is the FOTN because these guys are so hard to split! I'm siding with Pantoja because it's Kape's UFC debut and I think he might take a little while to adjust to the UFC's level of competition

Stamann vs. Askar
Cody Stamann, DEC
I don't know much about Askar but Stamann hasn't found any finishes in the last 2 years so I think Stamann to win a decision is a fairly safe bet

Ferreira vs. Dariush II
Beneil Dariush, DEC
Here's another 50/50 fight. There isn't much to separate them but Dariush is the younger fighter so that extra energy could give him a crucial advantage here

Rodriguez vs. Marques
Mike Rodriguez, TKO, R1
Rodriguez should get a very easy KO win here

Jaynes vs. Smith
Devonte Smith, TKO, R1
Fair play to Jaynes for taking such a risky fight at such short notice but he's just going to get beaten up badly here. Smith has got a lot of power and I wonder if Jaynes is underestimating Smith's power. That would explain the poor career choice but to end this on a positive, it's certainly brave of Jaynes to step in!

Rosa vs. Edwards
Karol Rosa, DEC
I really want to see Edwards do well in the UFC but Rosa is a tougher opponent than Wu as far as I'm concerned

McCann vs. Procópio
Molly McCann, DEC
This seems like a simple pick on paper but they're fighting on canvas, not paper so we might see a surprise in this one but I wouldn't bet on anything other than a big decision win for McCann

Zalal vs. Choi
Youssef Zalal, DEC
I'm sure Zalal will make a great comeback from his last defeat to win this one decisively

Valiev vs. Day
Timur Valiev, SUB, R2
I feel that Day's biggest weakness is that he often leaves himself vulnerable to submission attempts. Valiev doesn't strike me as much of a grappler but I'm sure he would've done his research and will look to take advantage of what I feel is Day's biggest weakness

Osbourne vs. Rivera
Ode Osbourne, SUB, R1
The fact that this fight is at 145lbs suits Osbourne much better than it does Rivera as Osbourne is the bigger of the two naturally so he will look to use his size to his advantage

@hyrm I think Reem is doing more cardio and less weight lifting since his change to Elevation, and this is what he looks like after a few years of that. I agree he looks less intimidating but this is probably smarter for this stage of his career and style of fighting he has adopted.
