Mickey Gall, SUB, R1
Youuuuu want my thoughts on this? Honestly, I hope Mickey Gall strangles Diego, with his 6th Rear Naked Choke and immediately after, Diego tells the fans it's his last fight and leaves his gloves in the middle of the octagon.. He doesn't reallyyyy need to be fighting anymore. I dnt want him taking anymore unnecessary punishment. Kinda like When Muhammad Ali fought Larry Holmes. Ali had NOOO BUSINESS getting in that ring. I looove this sport. I looove the violent KO's and the attempted murder by strangulation. I love the ****. But I almost cringe and turn away when these war torn guys keep fighting. Call me a ***** for it, whatever. I just dnt enjoy watching our beloved MMA legends taking unnecessary beatings

Surprised to see so many picking Gall by sub....I think he most likely wins but Sanchez has had a loooong career and has yet to be submitted. Wouldn't be surprised if Sanchez somehow squeaks out a split here. Screw it though his chin hasn't been there so I'm going with Gall by TKO!

@Poir420 .... Veryyy bold prediction, but I kinda hafta agree with you. His chin is suspect. I dnt think it'd last another war like he had with Gil Melendez.... But I also dnt know if Mickey Gall Bladder has the striking skills to KO a diminished chinned Diego... But I really wouldn't be surprised

Predictions: 8 of 12 Winners, 3 Perfect, 500 Points   |   Tied for 800th

Jones vs. Smith
Jon Jones, TKO, R2
once jon gets him down, it's probably over. considering saying rnc, but strikes are more likely.

Woodley vs. Usman
Tyron Woodley, DEC
these guys talk like they're gonna bang it out, and i hope they do, but i'm not sold. it could totally be a staring contest. either way i think woodley should have the advantage. kamaru is gonna have to find his chin and stay in his face if he wants any success.

Lawler vs. Askren
Ben Askren, TKO, R2
ben's overall game is trash, but his wrestling is so good that he can rely on his chin a bit in order to get inside. years ago, you'd have to pick robbie easy, but i'm more concerned about his time away than ben's semi-retirement. i actually think ben might blanket him for a round before finishing in r2 via non-response to strikes.

Torres vs. Zhang
Weili Zhang, DEC
feel bad for tecia here, high risk low reward fight coming off 2 losses, but a well-matched fight nonetheless. i want to pick tecia and say she can hit takedowns, but i can't help but feel like zhang is gonna be the aggressor and throw a lot more.

Garbrandt vs. Munhoz
Pedro Munhoz, DEC
it remains to be seen if cody can bounce back from back surgery and double ko losses or if he'll be the new barao, but either way i feel like pedro munhoz is kind of underrated so i'll add some spice and say he can outwork him. maybe even snatch up a guillotine if he hurts him and get a technical sub (i don't see cody tapping).

Stephens vs. Magomedsharipov
Zabit Magomedsharipov, DEC
feels like wrong timing on this fight since jeremy is coming off a loss, but still an awesome stylistic matchup. tryin to stay realistic on a lot of these highly praised fighters while also enjoying the ride. zabit should be able to avoid big bombs, frustrate stephens, and hit opportunistic td's.

Cirkunov vs. Walker
Johnny Walker, TKO, R1
been fun watching walker make some waves and this is a nice step up. i'm just not sure confident that misha is gonna survive the clinch in order to get inside and actually test him.

Perez vs. Stamann
Alejandro Perez, DEC
i actually kind of like perez here. he's at aka so you know he can wrestle pretty well and his cardio should be on point.

Sanchez vs. Gall
Diego Sanchez, DEC
both lionhearts on the same card, huh? maybe fights will play out similarly? i don't think diego is gonna be an easy mark for the rnc so gall is probably gonna have to really hurt him standing if he wants to set it up and idk if he'll be aggressive enough. i guess i'll play with fire and go with the classic, diego by split.

Byrd vs. Shahbazyan
Charles Byrd, TKO, R2
byrd has by far the better resume and edmen wasn't super impressive in his debut so the odds are a little confusing to me, but it seems like the majority of members disagree so maybe i'm off-base. there is a big age gap though so i guess it's reasonable to pick a prospect over an older fighter coming off his first loss via strikes. now i'm confused.

Mazany vs. Chiasson
Macy Chiasson, SUB, R2
macy has shown some promise and it feels like they wanna push her while mazany is likely only still around because she got a gift in china after agreeing to fight mcmann. macy already beat someone significantly better than gina so i see no reason why she won't finish her too.

Viana vs. Cifers
Polyana Viana, SUB, R2
kali robbins is a decent win, but i'm still not convinced cifers is ufc-ready so i agree with the odds. viana losing to jj isn't going to look like a bad loss in retrospect and it was only a decision so there's still a lot of upside for her.

Main Card too short?

Predictions: 8 of 12 Winners, 3 Perfect, 515 Points   |   Tied for 651st

Man, this card will be fun to watch but it made me wonder - should the UFC consider making main cards longer when the card is stacked like such? Having Stephens/Zabit on the Prelims is insane and could/should be a main card fight. Thoughts?

The main cards for PPV USED TO have 6 fights. But they'd always run late, Idk why they changed it to 5 fights, coz let's be honest... If it were really a time thing as they said, then they coulda just moved the PPV main card start time back 30 mins, which would be MORE THAN ENOUGH time needed.. But I agree. They charge you $60 -$70, for 5 scraps... Basically $12 a fight

Torres vs. Zhang
Weili Zhang, TKO, R2
Torres seems overconfident in her interview with MMA Junkie "“Honestly, when I got the message from the matchmaker I was like, ‘Who’s that?'” Torres on Tuesday told MMAjunkie Radio. “Then I Google’d her." Chinese have a big thing about honor & respect, and Tecia just gave Zhang's team some really good "bulletin board material."

Cirkunov vs. Walker
Johnny Walker, TKO, R1
Walker is on a roll right now. Cirkunov will have to survive the early onslaught and his chin is not made of granite. Walker may be the next big thing a 205. He needs to finish early or Misha will be in the fight. If Walker can just fight a little smart and not get too cute he should get the hype train rolling full steam.

I question where Stephens head is at now having to back to being a gatekeeper. He was so close to his title shot and Aldo snatched it from him. Now he has to fight a real beast in Zabit. Barring a mistake from Zabit this should be a clear decision win. With a possible late submission as a frustrated Stephens throws caution to the wind and gets himself into a bad position.
